I enjoyed it as a child, but over time I lost my love of it. I didn't appreciate some of the morals they were trying to preach, although some of the morals hit the nose. I also ... wasn't 100% fond of Roseanne (the character, not the actual actress). There's a certain amount of nostalgia for it, but I'm at the point where I can only watch the episodes where they got lots of lottery cash and are enjoying their wealth.
haha..i know what you mean..that episode where dj wouldnt kiss a girl in the school play cause she was black was enough. i preferred the earlier seasons where they were just poor and rude.
"Roseanne, feeling that DJ is being forced to do something he doesn't want to, meets with his teacher, who tells Roseanne that DJ does not want to kiss Gina because she is black. Roseanne confronts DJ and tells him he has to kiss her, but he refuses and Dan supports his decision. After a fight with Chuck (James Pickens, Jr.) Dan questions his own bigotry, and he tells DJ he has to kiss Gina"
I often saw this show as some sort of like "im a weird country bumpkin home but with great morals"
then I saw john goodman and said
" **** its the flinstones with Wilma letting herself go and Pebbles being a angsty teen"
