You know, this can be seen in 2 ways, either she's referring to assholes who hate gay people, in which case she is basically using a serious mental disorder as an insult, which is in no way less insensitive than using the word retard in the same way, or she genuinely hates people with a mental disability that causes them to have from severe feelings of discomfort to panic attacks upon seeing anything their mind perceives as "gay". Either way, this... Connor(seriously, is that a guy or a girl?) seems like a truly awful human being. Or i guess it might just be willfully ignorant on a subject it claims knowledge of, which is just as bad.

the word 'homophobia' has kind of been appropriated to just mean 'dislike or prejudice against homosexual'
Seriously look it up, it's the definition of the word on google, wikipedia, merriam dictonary, dictionary reference you name it. It's very very rarely used to actually describe someone with a phobia towards homosexuality in this day and age.
Basically it was taken and bloated out to mean that so that everyone who spoke up against homosexuality in anyway would be bullied and shamed down to the point where no would listen to anything they said because they were 'homophobes' which when it first started being used that way was somewhat synonymous with 'insane' because the word was taken from a mental disorder.
