Red Panda Comp #?
[center] Hello again!
The Red Pandas typically grow a bit larger than the size of a house cat, so they aren't very big animals. As you can see in the picture, they are also a little more fluffier than a 'normal' cat. [center]
Not only are they related to the normal giant panda, but they are also related to the raccoons! This is featured by the rings it has on its tail, but either way, the Red Pandas has been classified to its own unique family, the Ailuridae.

They are considered endangered due to its decreasing (and low population) numbers. This is because their natural habitats is getting destroyed by logging and the spread of agriculture as well as the loss of bamboo (which is their main source of food).
This is a surprise: Their thumb is not a thumb, it's just an extension of the wrist bone.
They are the state animal of the Indian state of Sikkim. It's estimated to be around 300 of them in Sikkim.

They were actually discovered before the giant panda and were the first to be called "panda". Before the discovery of the giant panda, they were classified with the bear family.
[center] And here is a nearly completed fossil of a Red Panda!
