Attractive, confident people often have many friends (ignoring the quality of friendship) and attend parties or gatherings in groups, but I have known many less attractive men and women who attend such parties or gatherings alone.
My aforementioned friend did have a friend with her initially, but while she was hooking up with someone, my friend was drugged as she was recognized as alone at that time.
