If I remember right, they didn't even actually blind him... They just stuck tree sap in the helmets visor. For some reason or another, he preferred to believe he was actually blind.
Na, the tree sap, though harmless if he had taken it out in time, was actually somewhat harmful, and because he chose to believe he was blind, it actually did blind him. The amount of time it took however was extremely lenient, so really, stubbornness is the true cause for his blindness
yeah it was the citizens of oolacile
heres the item description
A helm crafted especially for the honorable Hawkeye Gough,
only the eye holes were packed with tree resin
by those who dismissed Gough as a brutish giant.
I don't remember where, i believe it's in some item description
I might remember wrong as well i dunno
Just watch the video about it by VaatiVidya i guess
But if your legs get ripped off by something you would also say "now that i have no legs i can't run anymore"
I mean, it's not like DS lore was particularly specific at any point in time
The citizens of Oolacile did it.
The item description (thanks to comment #74 for that)

TV show´s pretty great up to Season 3 - Mid Season 4 then it starts going downhill pretty fast. I mean, I love Game of Thrones but Season 5 was just all sorts of dissappointing.
I imagine the books are better at this point considering they allow for a lot more detail and immersion. It's a pretty great world, in my opinion, but Book 1 is almost entirely set-up for the rest of the series. Just gotta trudge through that. I enjoy it, but it can drag on for a bit at times.
The show started getting ******** and ******** the more D&D decided they should **** gurm and try to promote themselves with god awful "original" changes under the excuse that "it's adapted for TV, it can't be 100% true to the books".
The Jaime & Bronn adventures in Dorne arc has probably some of the worst acting and script in the history of television.
But hey, no one cares about that because the average viewer is like "HURRR DURR BOOBIES AND VIOLENCE!!!"
i loved runescape **** was my life 13 years ago. but then it started to go downhill with the updates. last big update i actaully enjoyed was player housing.
