I hate sh it like that. My father is american and my mother is german. I was born in Bavaria, Germany and was raised german I spent a lot of time on learning english properly because I want to work as an actor/translator, so I do pretty well on every essay and exam we have to do in english class.

And EVERY damn time I have to listen to crap like "Hurr you're half american so OBVIOUSLY you have to be good in english".

Some of my ancestors were also polish, so I obviously should be able to speak that, too.

>implying English class is a study of the language structure.
I don't know about you but English class for me was a metric ******* of ******** essays and opinion papers. And reading. Spanish class was class where I actually ******* learned how to speak Spanish. Someone who's a native speaker (and who has an ounce of intelligence) shouldn't have any trouble with it. I cannot recall a single instance where we conjugated English verbs in English class.

in english-speaking countries, English isnt the study of the language, it's the study of english literature and essays (mostly), you already speak the language. foreign language classes actually teach the language because you don't know it.

i believe it's the same in spanish-speaking countries, their "Spanish" classes (i think are just called Literatura) are the study of spanish literature/essays and English class teacher english.

oh cmon, spanish class is about learning another language and english class is about analyzing literature. i'm not saying one is harder than the other, but it's not comparable.

funny regardless

how about we give characters eyes so they don't seem like ******* horrific demons that can't even speak an intelligible language because all they care for is human flesh and satan's ascension to heaven?

English was difficult for me mainly due to me not speaking the language (Raised on a small farm in North Wales, and they're pretty pro-Welsh up there).
I still can't figure out how I got a C out of it for my GCSE.

The ******* difference is that Spanish Class At least the Spanish class at my High School is meant to teach you how to speak and read spanish. English class don't do that **** . It tries to teach us how to write persuasive and expository essays that are freaking hard to do. If you grew up speaking a language, you shouldn't have difficulty in a class that is only about speaking and reading that language. If you're hispanic, but never grew up speaking spanish, then you're in the same boat as the rest of us.
