I had pet birds from when I was 6 to 17. First two lived 6 years, last two lived 5. They're cute and fun, but a lot of work. Also if one dies, the other will likely die soon after, they get real depressed.
No because then you just end up with a constant stream of new animals.
You don't think if one of your two 6 year old birds dies and you get it a 3 months old new bird, the new bird is gonna die at the same time as the old one left over?
Then when the other old one dies, you have to get your now middle-aged 'new old' bird another new bird friend.
Where does it end?
Birds are fine to have on their own as long as you can provide A LOT of time, attention and fun things to do.
It's like having a 3 year old kid that stays a 3 year old for 6 years and then dies.
No, because I tried that before. The new one gets ******* murdered by the old one. Happened twice. Budgies don't make new friends easily, best raised together.
