the third one is for a mass connection, it's safer when something goes wrong. in belgium they're mandatory, in the netherlands for example they are not.

I hear ya. I've spent what seems like 5 minutes trying to plug one of these in the dark. Sometimes even when I flip it it still doesn't go in right for some reason.

And yeah, the 3 prong ones are best, as long as you don't have to plug it into one of those extensions where there are only 2 prongs available.

i hate being shocked by static electricity, but i've had an few outlets and other things shock me, they arent too bad, just really strong feeling in your hands, or wherever you're touched, it hurts much less than even a tiny static shock. I wouldnt recommend going around licking outlets though XD

I don't know why but I always get kind of excited when that happens, I've only been shocked once before when I was younger and I remember it making my arm sting and feel sort of numb like nothing else ever has.
