At least his intentions are good. So many people with low self esteem become arrogant. Like, at highschool we had this boy who hoped that he was clever really hard, and well he was some sort of.

But because he saw other people giving replies to questions he couldn't awnser he just started going 'oh god can't you just shut up'. And laughing at people when they would give a wrong awnser or give a presentation that didn't go 100% smooth.

Constantly shouting out his opinions when the teacher was talking, just whenever he felt like it. Trying to add 'new information' or trying to finish the teacher's sentences.

God I hated that kid. Never do to someone else what would hurt yourself in his position.

i don't get why the word 'retard" has gained so much bad reputation. no matter how much "retard" is used on oneself, it's still one's own decision to be offended or not.
i was called a "retard" quite a lot when i was younger by many people including my own parents, due to me having a abnormally large head, and a speech difficulty that made me sound like i'm speaking in slow motion. but tbh, who the fuck cares what they think.
right now, i go to McGill university, arguably the best university in Canada, with my own hard work. and the way i see it, being called a retard gives me pride, as shows that i am the one in charge of my own life, and my future.

This fits perfectly with how I few things: You can say whatever you want, as long as you don't mean it in a derogatory way, or to intentionally hurting someone.

Does it really matter what he calls them? The way I understand this pic is that he just doesn't know any better (fe they would call them retards where he's from) but his heart is in the right place and he is taking a stand for a weaker member of society.
I might be overthinking this, though.

This is a genuinely true meme. Pejoratives are only insulting when put in an insulting context. Today's moronic society has put such a stigma on certain words. It's fucking ridiculous.

Take this for an example: You cant say faggot. Well guess what, faggot means gay. By calling someone a faggot you are calling them a homosexual. If they are a homosexual, why would they mind being called one. It's what they are, why would they be ashamed of it.

However, if you are discriminative towards homosexuals it doesn't matter which word you use, the context and your view don't change, they're still insulting.

People try SO hard to sugar coat everything these days. People need to stop worrying about labeling and definitions and writing, rewriting, revising bullshitting about terms and definitions and how do we call one thing or another, or which word is not insulting now (but will become insulting in a few years and will need to change). All of this cis trans gender fluent, parent 1 and 2 a proposition in the EU that the terms mother and father should be banned and parent 1 and 2 be used so homosexuals dont get insulted bullshit and similar stuff needs to stop. Stop trying to label and categorize everything. It's ridiculous.

Why did the word retard have to become the R-word. So now when you talk about the retardation of anything you have to be shushed and told not to say that?
#4 - archael ONLINE (06/08/2014) [-]
"Offensive words" typically don't hold much power once you check the actual definitions.
