Being ****** is being ****** , regardless of things you don't choose. I'm a white straight male who talks about inequality. I don't do it in the interest of vengeance, I do it in the interest of preventing marginalization caused by apathetic disinterest, much like your own.

White straight males are still human, just like you are. We bleed, as you do. We die, as you do. Our pain is real, just as yours is real, and if you dehumanize an entire group of people based on attributes they didn't choose then you are no better than the image you hold of those you criticize.

White? Check
Male? Check
Straight? Check
I honestly have never thought about how easy I have it.

It's all ******* stupid.
I could go to one of these "white apologists", start some **** , state my views and wait for the inevitable:
"Oh but you don't know what oppression is like because you're a straight, white male"

And you know what?
They're right, I don't know what oppression is. But then again, they're wrong because I'm gay.
Apparently there is one huge line here, if you're straight, white and male, you're scum in their eyes, but if you're the opposite to one thing there, regardless of your views on the world, you're no longer considered bad to them.

Why the **** does it matter anyway?
I'm white, so ******* what, I shouldn't have to apologise what people who were white done decades ago. Christ, why not make people with blue eyes say sorry for every crime committed by a person with blue eyes?

So what if you're straight? They say straight people don't face any discrimation, but being gay and being around gays, I can say that they do, some gay guys and women are complete assholes, and most of them think they're better people for "being different" and not being a "boring straight guy/girl".

As for being male, I guess if you're male you can't be discriminated against. God I love having a penis, I totally don't have to put up with unfair marriage laws which put women higher in divorce cases or child custody cases, I love knowing that there are people who legitimately think that because I have a penis then I can't be raped and it's not a real crime.

**** all those people, **** anyone who thinks anything like that, you're the kind of people who are setting the human race back.

The idea of "equality" is a **** concept anyway. Women will never know the joy of having a fully-functional penis and men will fortunately never have to go through monthly haemorrhages. Let's just agree to lessen the assholery and maybe then will we progress.

This is a quite popular opinion, though.

I'll totally agree that people who are all 'its impossible to be sexist towards men, or racist towards white people' are just vengeful and hypocritical, talking about and wanting to stop inequality IS truly about progress, as long as the people working for change truly are trying for equality. Because truly, people are always treated unfairly somewhere for things that are totally ******** .
If a man hits a woman and it is reported, usually he will face some legal actions. If a woman hits a man, she rarely will. This is ******** and should not happen, but there ARE 'reasons' for it- women are biologically weaker and thus likely not hitting quite so ************* cause she's still abusing a person. In this case, and things like custody rights, divorce settlements, and so on, men get the short straw.
Accepting this as inequality does not however, mean that we don't 'need feminism', either. True feminism is actually wanting to be treated as equal. It means not being harassed on the street or oversexualized, and being allowed to **** whoever you want (as long as you arent cheating) without being shamed for it, for exposing your body how ever much or little as you want without fearing for facing totally ******** consequences for it. Women can rape and catcall and shame men too but the true reason behind equal rights is stopping ALL of that- it just happens to happen a lot more to women and LGBT folks and minorities, so in many ways they truly do need the extra support.

I still think it's horse **** that every other race and gender combination aside from white males have a scholarship opportunity in college.

********** reporting in from the UK. This is what really pisses me off about the whole social justice movement with their god damn privilege checking. It's really racist to assume that someone is predetermined to be privileged just because they're born as a white male. Privilege has nothing to do with skin colour, I believe it's more to do with your financial background and whether or not you were born into a rich family. Just because the people at the top of society happen to be the few rich white conservative men doesn't mean that every white male is suddenly privileged; in the same manner that not every black person is a degenerate scumbag due to the few bike stealing ******* who happen to give them a bad name. That said, some people who are successful had worked hard to earn it. Others who are not so successful had maybe not worked hard enough or were too lazy so quit blaming others for your problems.

While I feel that racism is still an integral part of our society, it is most certainly not as impairing as what it used to be.

With segregation and equal employment laws, it is very difficult to be impaired by the color of your skin unless you live somewhere like the deep south.

People who feel the necessity to get offended by racism and tend to complain about it just lack the motivation to be accomplished individuals so they place their aggression with themselves onto others as a defense mechanism.

In my opinion, I feel what is truly holding the minorities in this country back is the environments in which they grow up in. The ghettos of the United States boast more violence per capita than anywhere else in the world and the school systems are less than poor.

Growing up with parents that tend to be less than reputable themselves, living in an environment that promotes joining gangs for protection, and a school system that lacks the professionalism to promote success, all these create a negative feedback which make it hard to be motivated to leave such a terrible environment.

In a sense, it's not the racism which is holding them back, but themselves which is holding them back.

The main problem is, which one of you brave souls are going to volunteer to try and help make the change? I know I'm not. ****** scary.

TL;DR: It is almost impossible to be impaired by racism in this day and age, what defines your status is more so the area you grow up in rather than the color of your skin.

I hate how tumblr treats it too... I'm a white female, but I have more privilege than a black female, gay/bi/trans female, and all these other people and they act like if you're "priveliged" you're not allowed to complain about anything ever.
User avatar #199 - ieatsnatch (12/04/2013) [-]
Remember children, its only racist if a white person does it.

1. Post a picture of "unpopular opinion puffin."
2. Caption it with an extremely popular opinion that caters to the majority of FJers .
3. ???
4. Rake in the thumbs.

Don't get me wrong, I'm the most generic white/straight/privileged male there is, but this is just getting stupid now.

I think its because the 'you can be whatever you want' mentality has created a bunch of people who don't do **** , and whine then say its someone elses fault.

OK, so I'm out for vengeance. So ******* what? White people have had it WAY to easy for too long. It's time for advantages for minorities

Uhhh anyone who truly believed that would only be destroying their cause by voicing that opinion. Look at his username.

I don't think "everyone is equal"
Some are better than other at certain things. Be it genetic or not.

...You've given me a reason to pause for thought.

I'd have to go for being "treated as equals".
