so you're just going to randomly wear a hockey glove in one clip and not explain that **** ?
It shouldn't need explanation. Loading rounds into a magazine normally requires manual precision. Even just wearing normal gloves, it's a bit trickier than normal. So, wearing very bulky gloves, and still being able to load a magazine faster than someone without gloves is pretty slick.
You were first given a demonstration that compared normal loading procedure versus this speed loader. It should have been blatantly apparent what the purpose of showing the speed loader being used with 'hockey mitts' was meant to indicate.

All you'd have to know about guns is that they use bullets.
There was literally a side-by-side demonstration of loading rounds into a magazine in the 'traditional way', compared to using a speed loader.
You don't know how 'magic' works, but you still read Harry Potter and understood it, right? Because it was explained to you along the way.

Right, what I mean is that if you have never handled a gun, or had to load a magazine, maaaaaaaaaybe, just maaaybe, you wouldn't know that it can be tricky to do, so the demonstration with the gloves won't make sense, and since we didn't get an explanation, just a side by side pair of videos, people won't put those together.
I may not know how magic works in Harry Potter, but I don't think you know how people work in real life

I know that people can watch the guy on the left side at the beginning of the video, and see that he has to use his fingers to load the rounds. And that makes it perfectly clear that to perform this task, you normally need a level of manual dexterity. And it should be common sense that you don't have the same level of manual dexterity when wearing a bulky glove.
But perhaps I expect people to have basic powers of observation & common sense.

No such thing as common sense, just what we know and what we don't - give a caveman a spoon and he won't even know to turn it the right way.
If you have never handled a gun in any way, and somebody shows you this video, he is not even gonna look to the left for a second, he will look at the loader and think "oh boy that's neat."
People don't take notice of things they aren't experienced with.

Time to simply agree to disagree. IMO, if a 'caveman would never understand a spoon', then nothing would have ever been invented int he first place. The human brain has the capacity to extrapolate from the current perceived reality. Granted, actually using that ability is rare, but I think it exists in everyone. It's only faded from disuse, and that's only because there is no necessity for creation in the average person's life.
I'm not saying he would never understand the spoon, but people need time and experience with stuff before they learn and extrapolate, being shown a quick video like this is by no means enough time or experience, especially if on FJ, with which I mean that people are here for a quick laugh and then move on, chances are they aren't actually looking at the video, just watching it.
I saw that you're a former marine, think back at basic training, how much stupid **** did you guys do? How many silly mistakes that are now clear as day?

I recognize your point. However, I still think the concept of loading rounds into a magazine is a simple idea, and even without firsthand experience, a casual observer should be able to grasp the basic operation.
It's like watching a baseball game. You don't have to have any skill in order to understand how the basic of the game works. Hit a ball with a stick, run around the bases, score a point.
Oh, and by the way:
burningsmurfs, atusek, legiah, jameswindy & chummyxray; Come on down!

It's a well known fact in advertising that you have to cater to people who are deficient of common sense and critical thinking. (not the type of person i want handling a gun but I digress) hence the hockey glove. In an ideal world I would agree with you, but in this world we still have grown adults who cant tie their shoe laces.
Ok I got in there

I don't see how it's 'unrelated'. On the left, you are manually putting in rounds one at at time, using too hands. On the right, you're putting in five at a time, and much faster, and_ one handed..
I really don't think you need Billy May's voice saying "In fact folks, it's so easy to load rounds one handed, you can do it even when wearing a heavy hockey glove!"_
I guess it boils down to the fact that have higher expectations for the average person's comprehension level than, well, the average person does.

It isn't unrelated, but it seems so to people who don't know better.
I do think you have too high expectations, and in this case I think it's because you've been working with guns in the marine corp, things that seem obvious to you will fly right by laymen, but I don't know you, you could just have high expectations just generally...

Hola, I guess you mentioned me because you think I want to continue to thumb you down. Truth of the matter is I don't care about the discussion you're having, I only thumbed you down on those two posts because I didn't agree with how you saw the situations. Then you continued to go at it, which you're just fine for doing, but I still didn't agree. Thanks for the mention though, but like I said, I don't care enough to continue with it. Best of luck to ya and zay.
Thanks for being cool with is, man. Hopefully you got your point across and it all ended well.

it was a demonstration of how easy the loader is to use even when wearing heavy gloves n stuff
