I've been playing since day 1, and I have Hawkmoon, Necrochasm, Fourth Horseman, and Icebreaker, and I bought the Gally this weekend. I ******* hate elitists who say "Max Gally only" when running hard raids, and because of this, I never finished Crota's End Hardmode until after the House of Wolves release. **** , it's going to become useless one day, might as well get it. **** those salty-ass fags who think I shouldn't have a Gally or think less of me because I bought it. Yeah, it takes a little bit of the hope of getting the Gally in a raid or nightfall strikes away, but at least it made the "Gally only" clans obsolete.
Bro, i only completed Crota's End because everyone on the raid had Gallys except me, so there I was with my ******* Dragon's breath. So I'm sorry you couldn't complete it earlier.
I haven't completed VoG yet because I can't use the relic if my life depended on it. I'm a shooter, I can't do Relics.
And actually, TTK will render the Gally obsolete along with many of the other Year-One weapons. but apparently a 'new Ghallahorn' will be introduced with TTK and the vicious circle will start all over.
On VoG you don't really need a gjallarhorn though. Only place it'll make a lot easier is when youre getting teleported, and to kill the **** spawning there. Rest is all snipers.
Still doesn't give elitists ground to say we didn't earn it.
RNG loot is luck, not literally being earned. I've been playing since day 1 and Xur is the reason I finally have a Ghallahorn.
We earned our strange coins, so if they earned their Gally from a Nightfall RNG, the rest of us earned our Gally from obtaining all the strange coins from Heroics and Nightfalls.
Just because everyone has a Ghallahorn doesn't make the game worthless and unplayable. Play the ******* game and stop being a bitch.
And Xur's RNG is what sold the Ghallahorn, Bungie doesn't dictate Xur's weekly wares.
As far as I know what Xur sells isn't RNG, but a set algorithm. Gjallar was there in week 2, and after that they removed it from the Xur rotation because its so much better than everything else.
The reason why it was there this weekend is because theres a patch coming up with the next DLC, and theyll make it into a normal launcher.
When TTK rolls around with the new patch, the Ghallahorn will still be the Ghallahorn with it's tracking and worlfpack rounds (the wolfpack rounds are what's getting nerfed in the patch, they'll be dishing-out less damage), but it will become obsolete in comparison to fighting TTK hordes, bosses, and so-on. All Year-One weapons will be obsolete.
TTK is introducing some 'Next-generation Ghallahorn' or something, far superior from the current, so the vicious circle is going to come around full-circle with more elitists.
I wouldn't be surprised if thats the case. Grinding Destiny is demoralizing if you ask me. You get the best gear, and when you got it they release new DLC - and everything is useless. Thats why I stopped playing it a couple of months back.
Nothing became obsolete after The Dark Below or House of wolves, but now all the Year One weaponry being obsolete? Nah brah. It will however still work as it should in crucible, but in the new story missions, pucker-up your anus buddy.
I love my Hardlight, so that's gonna suck harder than a french maid.
And your level will no longer be determined by your armor's light with TTK. your light will be your armor rating to see if it's up for the job and will be a mission requirement, leveling will be XP-based again which pisses me the hell off.
Weapons didnt become obsolete, sure, but armor did. I never bought House of Wolves because I didn't think it looked that good - and I only want to play raid-DLCs with my friends really. The effect of not buying the ******* of DLC though is that the game is unplayable, as everything gets buffed up - and suddenly you're under-leveled for instance for Nightfalls.
It does suck, but for some reason I enjoy the game, and my friends do too. I won't be getting TTK however until they release it as a standalone instead of bundling it with parts of the game you already bought. That's some ******** .
