They have something similar in Europe called "Battle of the Nations"
T
here was a show on BBC about it called "Knight Club" where they followed the British team who just started, went to france and basically got the **** beat out of them in armour for a weekend.
I know but do you really think modern people would listen to those rules? and the way people cheat those lances would probably be weighted, plus a proper shield hit still has a high chance of breaking an arm
spring loaded lances and heavy padding? as long as you wear the armor right the wooden lances would break before they could break your rib cage. in the olden days? yea a metal lance will screw you over but jousting was a competition. one that did not see a lot of deaths.
also. the ohio renaissance festival has jousting done.
Renfair jousting is staged, and I'm sure there are numerous safety measures. And some armor doesn't do crap against blunt impacts. In fact, sometimes it can cave in under the force, and asphyxiate the competitor or maybe puncture a lung. Nowadays though I'm pretty sure people could do it safely, if not with friendlier lances, then at least with better padding inside of the armor.
well yea. who wins and loses and all is probably decided before hand. and they probably dont have the horse going as fast as they can. but in the end the wooden lance still smashes into the chest plate.
and also. a regular chest plate could withstand over 200 pounds of force being applied to it. the armor used for jousting is different. and at the very least i know the chest plates had at least one extra layer on it where the lance hit.
the wooden lance will break before the chest plate would cave in. and if the lance hit the chest plate hard enough for it to cave in and not break you would still be knocked over/off your horse resulting in you possibly getting hurt from falling off.
I'm aware it's a game, but people have still died from it. More than modern sports, at least. But I'm not jousting expert to I'll just leave it at that.
I tribute 1000 life points to summon Giantdad. Giantdad will smack Solaire in the face, destroying him. This will damage you for 1250. He will then halve his attack untill the end of this turn and smack you in the face again with 1600. You lose 2850 life points in total. I set one spell/trap face down and end my turn, returning Giantdad's attack to it's original amount.
A) QUICK PLAY spells can be played from the hand like normal spells, or set and activated at any time a trap card could be activated.
B) That card has the EQUIP SPELL icon, so your comment is entirely irrelevant.
C) The card text is still **** .
Your card text is less sloppy, but still bad. His graveyard effect wouldn't work, as it would tribute the spell from your hand, then negate his effect, which includes the special summoning. You'd throw away a magic card, and then miss the timing on the rez. I play Yu Gi Oh competitively.
I mainly use plant decks wich focus on graveyard synnergy, as well as synchro summoning. It's still in the works but I'm proud of it. As for my "lack of legitimate excuses"... I live in sweden, it's seriously 4:38 AM here and I'm barely able to keep my eyes open. In fact, it's sleep time for me now. G'night. I'll fix up giantdad when I wake up.
I use Cyber Dragon, Six Samurai, and Ghostrick. The new Cyber Dragon releases have allowed some serious ******** antics. Oh, I also have a Chaos Dragon deck, and a Blue Eyes Sychro deck.
I just bought dark souls 2 having never played the first
its fun but I have no idea what the **** I am doing
can anybody give me some help with what stats are good to invest in you don't owe me **** but I would like to think this is a pretty nice community of glorious assholes we have here so I dunno.....thanks

A lot of stat optimization depends on what sort of build you want to make. If you could say a little more about what seems interesting to you, that would be cool. Generally speaking, most people will want at least 30 vigor, 20, endurance, 20 adaptability to maximize invincibility frames while rolling, and 40 strength or dexterity (or both) depending on what kind of weapon you want to use. If you want to use spells, that would change things, and every type of spell will require a different type of stat investment for optimization.
Soul level is just the level of your character. You level up using souls, so they call it soul level. Online play matches people based on soul level, so most players want to have a similar soul level to everyone else so that they can play with as many people as possible. The most popular soul level is currently 150.
If you want to be a tank I think one build that may suit you is a high strength, high faith build. Havel's armor is great for a tank, and the Defender's Greatsword is excellent for strength/faith characters. There is a lot of very technical stuff involved in stat distribution that would be a pain for me to try to explain here, but I can post a link that has a lot of good info.
Also, check out some rings and see which ones sound good to you. 3rd Dragon Ring is the best one in the game, so you'll want that one, but the other 3 slots are really up to preference.
Sorcery build is easiest in dark souls 2, just level int att and vig
Or go quality build and just level strength vigor endurance vitality adaptability, in that order. note that poise and agility requires vigor and adaptability to increase
Pyromancy is straight retarded. Get forbidden Sun, Warmth, Power Within, and Conflagration, and you will be one healing, buffing, blasting ************ .
Clerics are too damn strong. They received a wider variety of offensive magics in DS2, so PVE they can just absolutely wreck, and there is a chime that doubles as a decent shield and casts with its R2. Heals now have an AOE that affects allies, and you can buff all allies as well.
I never liked magic, but currently the strongest hit in game can be dealt as a mage with the Moonlight Greatsword.
DO NOT ******* TOUCH ULTRA-GREATSWORDS. The tracking in DS2 is just awful, and the dead-angling isn't worth the trade off. They ****** my favourite sword as a result. (RIP in peace, Zwei).
Best of all though, YOU CAN RESPEC IN THIS GAME! You just need a certain item, then you can speak to the Fire Keeper sitting in the middle from the intro to reset all of your stats and reassign them. Experiment, test, and respec if you need to in order to be effective.
>actually locking on with ultra great swords *****
You get dat ****
AND THEN YOU GET READY TO JUMP
YOU JUMP HERE
YOU JUMP THERE
YOU SWING HERE
YOU SWING THERE
Get gud Tarkus's greatsword is helluva useful and good if you actually time your attacks
Well, I'm also a Cleric caster, so I carry the Sunlight Sword. I understand that UGS class weapons can be good, but I just feel that regular GS class is better because of the jump attack tracking and utility.
I've yet to beat the game, but I honestly just browse the internet whilst standing outside boss doors with my summon sign down.
*shrugs* I went strength/dex use a bow and tarkus senpai's the great sword
It's pretty easy once you get used to it
Doh you're right, great swords swing way faster and are pretty much better in about every way
I just use it cause tarkus was best summon Time your attacks or bash their shields, it's beautiful to see someone fall and get rekt by that huge ass swing ******* love this sword
I took your advice and used the sword from the white knight dude in the lost forest to go kill the old **** with the giant blue greatsword near majula but it says I am too casul to use his sword
why
well
in the beginning of the game I accidentally winged him with a hit when I was fighting these zombie ***** but then he decided to try and kill me for the next hour
oh well...
I read that sword isn't really that good, but I haven't tried it myself so I dunno.
I suggest going to the forest of the giants, going down tha ladder with the bonfire there, and kill the ******* below until you get a bastard sword
It's pretty decent.
thank you kindly
I am new to dark souls 2
but I have the burning desire to not see the "you died" every 20 seconds
I will heed your words
if you don't want to kill the **** out of me, but want to laugh at how casul i am, you should invade my world or some ****
i don't know how it works
I can't choose which world to invade.
Besides I think there's still an invasion level limit.
I'm nearly level 100 at this point, I'd only get to people between level 80 and 120
just killed ornstein and smough, making my way to the archives when I play again. been using fire light crossbow until now,it was sufficient for most stuff(took out the normal heavy for queelag though)
avelyn should help some, but I think I'll keep some spare light ones for artorias pulling his anime **** he's still badass
It's an actual build
Since the tracking on cross bows is ******* unfair and the avylin....man the avylin has some really unfair damage output
And this build revolves around dual wielding them
And dat Havel poise
Yea it rapes
