I actually did buy the console version. But that was basically just an overpriced demo. So I don't really feel bad. They got their money and I got my game, just not on the same game station.
Torrenting it? You bastard need to support those glorious ********* over at Overkill. It's one of the few game companies i've seen spew out community updates like their life depended on it.
I actually did buy the game for console a while back only to find that it was a gutted port with none of the content PC had. So, I don't really feel that bad about it.
sadly enough the reason for that is not overkill.
The content you have is EVERYTHING what the PC version had when the game was released. they just added so much extra FREE content that Xbox and sony raised the middle finger.
microsoft and sony want Overkill to pay for every single console update. which is why there is such a lack of new content.
and since Overkill makes a large update and such almost every month or more... it's not something they can afford... especially since half the content is free
I'm not necessarily blaming them, its just my conscious doesn't take a hit when I play on pc. Got to say though, I love running shadow raid I've ran it to much and I have like a -20% xp modifier.
But it's not ****** DLC. It's already a complete game, and you're still allowed to join games on DLC maps hosted by other players. You're only not allowed to host your own games on those maps.
payday 2 DLCs are p2w ****
see grenades
see snipers
see rpg
see melee weapons
However, I dont give a damn and still buy all of them because im a good goy, alternatively you can use DLC unlocker.
Like yea overkill is ******** DLC and community updates but they arent being too aggressive about it so its ok in my book. Its just too bad its all about dat powercreeping
It doesn't immediately make the game easier, it opens the possibility of getting more expensive late game weapons. It's not p2w, it's essentially like paying to increase your level cap in a game. It opens the opportunity to get more damage and stats, you still have to actually work to achieve those things.
Paying to win requires that you are able to simply buy powerful items with real money, which does happen in MMOs. This is paying money for the ability to work in the game and get new weapons.
You don't win much. You get grenades, and that's the only part that matters. The default weapons work perfectly (no dlc) Dlc weapons such as the sniper rifles are extremely situational to the point that they almost don't work. Rocket launcher is a detriment. Flame thrower is fun, but not super effective. Many of the other weapons aren't much stronger than the default and if they are, they have low ammo counts. Leveling up and playing the game with friends is how you get more.
TL;DR: You big dumb nig it can't be p2w if the game is about skill.
Default weapons works great, sure but DLC works even better
Snipers are not situational enough to not be overpowered. at least not since the ammo update
>rpg is bad
But no, theres like half of the DLC weapons that are straight upgrade from the vanilla counterparts. all dem mods and all dem special ammo are absolutely overpowered compared to vanilla
tldr; stop playing on overkill and learn your mechanics
My first time playing Payday 2 was in one of the free weekends.
Opened up a lobby for bank heist cause I heard the bots are useless and I wanted an easier time so I can get the hang of it first.
>guy joins
>V-100
>"no weekend noobs allowed"
>"I'm the host"
>"kick yourself"
>then he leaves
I heard they don't like low levels that much but I didn't expect my conversation with the very first guy I meet to go like this.
some level thirties joined later, had a blast.
Oddly enough thats quite the opposite with the tunngle community. I've got several mates on there that are level 80-100 and one thats like 4th infamy and they're pretty rocking fellows and are eager to help a guy run Shadow Raid on Deathwish.
I'm actually playing it right now. In fact I got a funny story from just a few hours ago
>Level 30 and practicing Framing Frame job
>Join lobby of level 90, i-50, and an 80 person
>Practically carry them becuase they're running around shootin **** and missin
>we finnally are leavin and I'm on the other side of the place surrounded
>Shoot my way thru **** ton of cops
>Prepubescent kid "just ban him already" or some **** along those lines
>Literally on the opposite side of the wall
>You've been kicked
mfw
I'm only lvl 48 but I do shadow raid a lot like the exp penalty I have so far is a bitch. so I know how to run it pretty well on overkill mode can't do deathwish yet . So I start up a run place all the items as they should be and start. pretty soon the room is filled with two lvl50-ish and a lvl90-ish. These **** nuts I swear to god, they take both cans of thermal paste and waste them on the wrong grates that lead to the court yard and the front gate. They waste all the body bags on workers. and numerous time are spotted by the guards but manage to kill them quickly. So I deal with it, I get the card from the camera guard and find the other card, and I swear to **** the lvl90 takes the card to a cage and steals a painting. I said **** it, took a bag of loot and alerted the guards and failed the mission.
the first time i played payday 2 was with a friend and it felt like a shooting gallery. One cop would pop up out of ******* nowhere and when he went down another one took his place.
Actually, when I posted this it was quite related as I had just finished Transportark while having to run through scores of enemies dodging sniper fire. But mostly any time I'm hauling ass in payday while being fired on I think of this.
Definitely one of those games where friendly people can make or break the experience. I mean a few nice people running Shadow Raid and thats fun as hell on any difficulty. Doing everything all sneaky breaky poking about while remaining undetected. Its a shame you had assholes in your games insulting you.
It happens in a lot of games I play.
A friend wanted me to play counterstrike, and for some reason he put me in a competitive match even though I'd never really played fps games much. I went like 2-19 or something and everyone said I was worse than having a bot.
League is just a constant toxicfest.
An old irl friend in my hometown invited me to play gta5 and made me the gunner on the back of a truck from a heist, and we failed 3 times and he replaced me for someone else.
I had a really cool factory in feed the beast (Minecraft mod pack) that was frankenstein themed but then the server reset and none of my friends wanted to play it anymore.
and I didn't like terraria so I don't think I'd like starbound.
And if I was going to try a game like sunless sea I think I'd just get ftl cause I like scifi a lot.
and I don't know what reign of kings is...
If you like making factories I recommend you give TPPI and Epiccraft a shot. Both are really fun.
Terraria is crap compared to what Starbound is.
FTL is an ok game but I'd definitely be hard pressed to choose it over sunless sea as SS is still being updated with new stories and **** .
If you like Rougelikes I'd recommend Elona or Elona+ if you're willing to do the work for it, not much just a few more downloads than plain elona but adds so much more
Reign of Kings is like Rust but with better building mechanics, lower resource requirements, and is a great way to build and ruin friendships and relationships Its the monopoly of voxel building games. But basically you gather resources, build a castle, defend it, upgrade your work stations, eventually become king, name the lands Dicktopia, become asshole king with 20% tax on everything.
I don't like it when people get bitchy at others while playing games. I mean they're games, get over it. No need to take them so serious. I mean I get serious at times when I play but I don't yell at my team when mistakes are made except for this one asshole on Phantasy Star that made a 20s boss fight take like 10min. ******* asshole. .
Not a cracked server list its lan Those are two separate things. . And as I literally just said there hasn't been much if any lag either as host or connecting.
