There's nothing wrong with treating the delivery guy like a human being.

Unfortunately as a pizza delivery guy, I can confirm most of these are extremely accurate. We get treated like **** , but there are some amazing tippers/customers too

"Closes at midnight"

You should plan on taking orders until midnight, not 11:15. This is why you're working in service. You're too stupid for anything else.

Well it's amazing how it said 11:55 isn't it? Maybe you should learn to tell the time before you bitch about other peoples intelligence

I'll just assume you've never worked retail and you're probably also a dickhead.

You know what's awesome? When you have a really ****** job but a really cool supervisor who sticks for you when customers come to bitch.

When I first got my licence I worked at this little place called Franky's. Not a huge place but it was pretty well known around town and every weekend it was packed. I worked as a delivery boy and bused tables when we didn't have many orders. Most people were alright, sometimes I would deliver to a dick who yelled at me when I was late but no harm was really done with those people. Maybe my experiance was better than others but I no "problem customers". Except for one.

There was one woman who lived in the rich part of town who hated everyone at Franky's. Hated the cooks, hated the management, hated the bus boys, but especially hated delivery boys. Whenever she would bring her family in (why she continued to eat there I have no clue) her kids would run around and make a complete mess of everything. She thought it was perfectly okay for her nine year old to just walk into the kitchen and take things like spatulas and aprons, once our fry cook burned the **** out of his hand trying to step around her kid and then she laughed when we told her to get out. We banned her from coming back into the restaurant but she still ordered for delivery once a week and I was always the one who brought it to her. Most of the time it was just a very hostile and awkward situation, I would show up at her door, she would say I was late, would try to get a discount on her order, I would tell her to go talk to my manager, she would pay me (no tip, mind you) and I would go to the next house on my list. But there was one time when she was especially bitch-y and I will forever remember this.

Continued in a reply.

You should know something about my boss, he was a 6'5 middle aged Italian man who funded this restaurant with money he made from boxing championships. He is not a person you want to **** with. His wife also ran it with him and did most of the finance, pretty cool woman unless she lost her temper in which case she became your worst nightmare. We also had a convicted felon working the grill, a former cop on register, and one of our fry cooks had a second job as a bouncer for a bar down the street. These are the kind of people you employ when you have a business in Chicago. All of them are staring daggers at this woman. However, she was not deterred and began to yell at everyone.

"YOUR DELIVERY BOY GAVE ME MY PIZZA LATE AND COLD! I DEMAND HE BE FIRED!"
"No." My boss replied.
"IF YOU DON'T LAY HIM OFF RIGHT NOW I WILL NEVER COME BACK!"
"Okay."
She was kind of stunned right now but before she could fire off another jab at me the fry cook comes to the rescue.
"Lady, you have been a thorn in the side of everyone here for the past year and that is the nicest thing I can ever about you. But, if you'd like, we can all speak our minds and say everything that we've been bottling up." The boss's wife just yelled out the word "CUNT!" and this woman went wife as a sheet. She left, we charged those pizzas to her credit card that we had on file and my next four customers got a free pie with their order. My boss then called every pizza place within five miles and asked for her to be blacklisted, they happily obliged since apparently she was an awful customer to them too.

It is really awesome when your boss is on your side.

I make it a point to be cool with the pizza guy/chick they have to meet tons of ****** people so I try to be a bro....even though I offered to let the guy hit the bong once. I thought it was funny. He was just scared.

....Do some people really ask the delivery guy to go to the store for them?
#53 to #38 - xymus (08/30/2014) [-]
I can most definitely confirm this. I worked at Dominos for about 6 months, and we always had this repeat customer that asked us to deliver the pizza, she would give us money, and ask us to pick her up a carton of cigarettes.

Needless to say we refused to deliver to her again.

As a pizza delivery diriver, I can confirm all of these.

I'm going to start carrying dog mace. I nearly got attacked last night. I had to call the guy to get him to call off his LOOSE dogs. I was trapped in my car. And I still didn't get tipped.

Oh man this one time we were having a bit of a party (Bunch of guys playing cards, getting high, watching tv and hanging out) and we ordered a pizza and it took 3 hours to get there and when it did it was all burnt, cold, and the drinks were flat so one of the guys got all real offended and called up the pizza place and complained and demanded a new pizza/drinks and at this point it's midnight an hour and a half after they were supposed to close so we were all like no way are they going to come, an hour went by, still no pizza guy, another hour, parties starting to die down couple of guys go to sleep, and the ******* pizza guy shows up 2 in the morning with fresh drinks and a freshly cooked pizza looking like hell. We all ended up pitching in and giving him grand total of a 40 dollar tip and invited him to our next game night, a week later he got the guy complained a job working at the very same pizza place.
Super weird.

User avatar #25 - grimagination (08/30/2014) [+] (3 replies)
a little philosophy i like to live by:

DO NOT **** with people that handle your food.

seriously, people treat waiters/delivery boys like **** but don't realise how far some people would go to get back at an asshole customer.

#43 to #25 - xxxsonic fanxxx (08/30/2014) [-]
If I caught anyone ******* with food where I work.. they would get beaten and fired so fast. Customers are dumbass 90% of the time, but dont **** with food. Make it fantastic so they feel bad, and talk **** about them on the line, but it should end there.
#24 - xxxsonic fanxxx (08/30/2014) [+] (4 replies)
That last one, why do pizza delivery boys always expect people to have the right amount of money, i always get the evil look if i do the last one, and im like calm down pizza bro.
User avatar #60 to #24 - pokemonstheshiz ONLINE (08/30/2014) [-]
they're not supposed to carry a lot of money, so people don't try to rob them. So they probably won't be able to give you change for 100.
#113 - Zyklone (08/30/2014) [-]
If your a good salesmen and not just a worker drone you charge them 10 bucks for a 99 cent 2 liter of coke. Plus the 5 bucks gas. Make easy money, go to walmart on the clock, and ensure repeat customer.

Prices and fees may vary with distance from nearest wal-mart

I worked a pizza place for a year, deliveries are chill but finding houses at night sucksdick.

No, no ladies were naked or horny.
#67 - malifforas (08/30/2014) [+] (2 replies)
I work for a pizza place as well, Not a delivery driver but I make the food. And let me just state that these are all so accurate
#50 - cdroid (08/30/2014) [+] (13 replies)
I don't understand why people get pissed off about the calling at 11:55 when you close at midnight; in many big towns pizza delivers until 3 AM. I called up a place that said on their website that they'll deliver as long as the call was received by midnight. You bet I complained to the manager when the guy at the other end hung up on me 3 times between 11:40 and midnight and then stopped answering.
User avatar #57 to #50 - pokemonstheshiz ONLINE (08/30/2014) [-]
because it's not about the actual time that you close. If it's 5 minutes to close, everyone's already started closing up shop. This goes for most places. They'll leave the bare essentials til last in case somebody does call in right before close, but it's still a pain.
User avatar #27 - mymommasallama (08/30/2014) [-]
as an ex dominos and pizza hut driver....every single damn one of these is true and has happened to me
heres a few more

places $30 order...pays 20 of it in change when this happened i would get them to find a baggie or something to put it in

wants ranch with pizza...waits until you arrive to ask

waits until you arrive to try to use debit card...gets mad when you call in card numbers over the phone

and ******* no. they do not issue a gps to every driver. unless you bring one yourself you are using an old fashioned paper map on a wall. i dont know how many people i have had to tell this...
User avatar #22 - wacemindu (08/30/2014) [-]
Dont really have sympathy for the first one. That's life. I work 12 hour shifts, if a call comes in 5 minutes to finish time we have to go to it... that's just how it is.
