>be me
>download a free to play game
>when i first joined i was given 100 points of the OP money that all games have
>checked the shop
>all OP money items costed more than 100 points to buy

>one of the game features was that for every spek of damage taken in battle
>you must pay gold to heal/fix
>the 100 OP money points also worked
>decided to pay the gold instead of OP points because i might earn more later on so i can buy a cool OP shop item

>last time i played the game was about a month ago
>I was level 87 out of 100
>had like 1000 hours clocked on this game

Not once did i ever get an OP point the only way to get them was to either pay a ******* of money or win the contest thing that came out once a month and their was only 3 winners for.

My almost end game account still has those 100 OP points from when i first started

I cant even use them on repairing my ship because it would cost 10000 OP points to fix

last i checked the developers removed the pay to heal thing so my OP points are even more useless

The games name is Robocraft
Just opened the game after 3 months of not playing

i was correct to stop playing this game

The developers have changed the game into being a pay to win peace of **** with no interesting features

The developers removed some **** that i loved in the game

They removed the ******* main CORE thing that powers the robot because apparently people didnt like it when that part of their bot was shot and they got insta killed

the chat is filled with people complaining about some new features

the steam reviews on the game are all negative

The game was really fun and really cool a year ago

i am sad now

Robocraft? pay to win? i've played since day 3 (not the beggining, but when it was beta) and never i saw it was pay to win... there was like 1 gun of each kind that was a bit better and had some particle effect you could buy with the galaxy cash (your op points). never had any problem playing. i don't recall the pay to heal thing too..

And yeah, i agree they made some terrible changes, but some a neat tho. I'm neutral on the pilot seat, it was really annoying to get some random one-shot where there wasn't supposed to be

Shameless FS(FreeJam, not FunnyJunk) apologist here, mostly because I don't want to admit to myself that it sucks now.

The core thing was removed kinda for the opposite reason, being that rather than instantly dying, people would strap a thruster to it, then when everything else was blown off they'd fly to safety, and the attacker wouldn't get the kill.

As for pay to win, well, uh... Those 11K HP headlamps that are GC only now are just inexcusable.

I miss RC.

Maybe the next major patch will fix it, it has some interesting features lined up. I can dream...

There is literally no "pay to win" feature on robocraft. You can buy bots, but they are nothing that you can't build yourself.

I personally like most of their changes, but the over-simplified tech tree isn't even a tree anymore. Instead of earning stars, you just level up. Which is a tad boring, but it WORKS. Which is the most important, I guess. Mech legs made the game 1000 times better. Was the best update ever.

The recent update with the removal of chasis tiers was kinda interesting. Huge change in the game, but I didn't actually notice actual gameplay differences. And the removal of the pilot seat, I kinda like. It really did suck getting 1-shot by a random stray bullet, sometimes. The new system makes it a little more balanced.

Also, when they wiped the bots, they completely returned every credit you ever spent. And the new pallet color option lets you customize the bot looks fairly easily, albeit you have to be premium to access all the colors (but the colors stay if you lose premium, as long as you don't change them). You can be any color now, not just blue or red, and it was awesome.

I still had a ton of fun with the game, but I have no friends who actually play it, so I stopped playing it again.

I played that for about a week a long time ago.
I could tell I was really ******* good at that game, or everyone sucked, because at least every other ******* game I capped the enemy base by myself.
I remember this one time I started a game and some ****** on my team got stuck on my robot and we stayed stuck together for a full minute, then while leaving he said "NOOOB!!!!" in chat.
He was one of the first to die while I went around the side and won the game by myself.

But yeah, it was pretty goddamn pay-to-win.

It really did used to be good but i think they listened to the community a little too much
#26 to #11 - anon (01/12/2016) [-]
The game is much better without all the ******** unkillable meta-builds. They better keep listening to the community.

I'm sorry that this happened to your once beloved F2P game

Now im even more pissed

heres a pic of the **** i can spend my OP currency on

Its all special effects and cosmetic stuff as you can tell

The stuff with the slashes i can afford

But wanna know something fun?

6 months ago glass blocks and headlights where in the category above cosmetic labeled "special"

I HAD THOSE ON MY VEHICLES

I HAD HEADLIGHTS AND GLASS ON MY GOD DAMMED ROBOT AND IT LOOKED PIMP AS ****

when i logged on all my robots where deleted and i got refunded half of what they where worth

all because i had OP currency items on them and the devs decided i needed to pay for those items in the CURRENT currency they are worth

They did that??? Well, I was planning on playing again to see the new features, eh... I guess I won't. Another promising F2P game goes in the trash.
User avatar #20 to #10 - darknak (01/12/2016) [-]
well yeah, it's a f2p game. they make their money on premium or cosmetics.
what did you thought? that everything was going to be given free to you?
#27 to #20 - anon (01/12/2016) [-]
You should be able to earn it, even if slowly. There's no point playing F2P games if every twelve year old abusing his parents' credit card can out-play you even without superior skill. That goes for all F2P games. They hurt themselves this way. The more people who play, the more people likely to buy some cosmetics because they care about the game and are able to do decently well at it.

But then you get into P2W territory and the 60% of people who don't have mad disposable income to toss at every single game they play eventually wind up leaving because nothing they do MATTERS and that's not fun.
User avatar #29 to #27 - darknak (01/12/2016) [-]
Cosmetic is cosmetic. you can have 50 canadian flags and some neato vapor trails, it won't make you any better
User avatar #28 to #27 - darknak (01/12/2016) [-]
that's exactly what i'm saying. there's basically one gun of each kind that is a bit better and has particles effect on it. the rest is cosmetic, like LoL's skins. you saying lol is a p2w? i don't think so
#16 to #10 - anon (01/12/2016) [-]
IDK, I did fine on F2P robocraft. I just left because they ****** up the combat system beyond all repair.
