im gonna bet 10 pinkies that they wont or its just gonna be some half-assed ******** explanation as with most stuff in the movie. cool yes. nice for the plot yes. but not really explainable by anything else than - because the script said so
You are right, but i think its the subtle things that made it somewhat better than the prequels.
It wasn't "Perfect" but i think the way James from Funhaus put it is best "if its an exact mirror of the Original Trilogy then its terrible if they're that afraid to try something new."
yeah this actually had some fun exchanges and good scenes but the plot just didnt make sense a lot of times because it was a copy of the original and seems that there was no one to ask jj how would this and that be possible
I am hoping the girl trains to make her Lightsaber into a Light-pike / Staff. i think that'd be epic.
But you are right, a lot of parts of the Story were just "Wot". Exchanging ALL KNOWLEDGE OF THE FORCE through a touch of a "bad history" lightsaber was a bit much.
And then there's the trooper, I am not sure what they're going to do with him. is he basically the Han solo main character now? Some kind of epic gunslinger? Hell i have a feeling he's going to enter the 2nd movie as some kind of cyborg.
Not to mention Maz's bar was the biggest thing that didn't make sense to me- it was COOL. but you'd think any of the jedi before would seek out this woman who has lived..Probably longer than yoda? for knowledge. "Man what is this Dart, maz?" "Its a mando Saber dart you twat, They make Clones on a planet you can find here, Good luck."
yeah i think it would be more cool if she found a way to combine her metal staff thingy with lightsaber. and that mindtrick on stormtrooper was funny i admit but it just didnt make sense. jedi train years to be able to use it and perfect it and she just suddenly has powers better than anyone in the movies. i dont really get the place of the black guy because he doesnt seem to be the jedi. rey has saber. rey has the ship. rey has force. he is kinda just..there. they were hinting on him becoming a jedi and then he just didnt do **** and rey is the deal. the maz bar was not explained or why would han go to ******* smuggling when he has a wife and a missing son and everyone knows he is part of the resistance. also i wish they didnt drag poor mark hamill into this, that scene was awkward as **** .
Han says at one point that he went back to smuggling because it was the only thing he was good at before the Rebellion thing, he also says that he didn't want to remind Leia of their son and that he had hoped being away would make Leia miss him.
It's kind of the same with Luke; one of the kids he's teaching turna to the Dark Side, instead of sitting him down and bitch-slapping him with the knowledge that his precious Vader turned to the light before dying Luke decides to run away and let the kid become the next Vader.
Got to wonder where the force ghosts are too; would have imagined Anakin would have appeared to his grandkid at some point to ask what the **** he thinks hes doing - kind of like Qui Gon shouting "Anakin, no" when he's on a massacre.
It is apparently supposed to be Anakins > Luke's. In the movie, Rey is drawn to the room because she hears something, which to me really sounded like the padawan children screaming. And when she touches it she sees some other horrible things that Anakin did, like the sand people massacre and stuff.
So, I'm assuming it's the one Obi Wan gave him in the first movie.
Yeah, you're right, it was the blue one. Apparently it got stuck in a duct and a maintenance droid found it, before being reclaimed by Vader and then given to Palpatine.
Depends how much pressure a lightsaber could hold versus it's density. After a certain depth the lightsaber would actually float in the dense atmosphere, pretty stably actually.
Considering it was constructed by a mystic space wizard, it's probably made of sterner stuff than you'd expect. I wouldn't know though. You'd have to ask the guy that does the star wars fact comps.
True but for us to know the exact atmospheric pressure caused by a semi-liquid layer of Bespin, we'd need to know the density of Tibanna gas, which could be literally anything Disney determines given that it's a fantasy material.
Considering it was used as a fuel/component for lightspeed or an armable high-explosive, if it functioned even semi-similarly to gasoline fumes, it could actually have a very low pressure liquid layer.
Fair enough, my biggest problem with a lot of the stuff in 7 similar to the lightsaber problem is that the writers seemed to just be going, what would be cool instead of what would make sense. It is a good movie but it creates a lot of questions that I don't think will ever get answered.
Lightsaber hilts are made of what is essentially aluminum, or if they got really fancy a specific type of tree bark that is as strong as iron.
Even if it didn't get crushed into the shape of the crystal inside of it (which it would have) it would eventually melt/burn away as it got closer and closer to the center of the planet, since the interiors of gas giants are significantly hotter than the cores of terrestrial planets.
you know how every one bitched about starkiller base just being another death star? Well in the old canon, there's like nine or ten. three or four of which are actual full blown death stars including the two that were destroyed in episodes IV and VI respectively, the rest are stuff like a star destroyer having a superlaser like what the death star had, pic related .
Bespin was made of Tibanna gas that was actively being harvested for expensive and necessary products. As well, Gas giants, thanks to gravity, become an a pretty dense gel-like liquid composed of their atmosphere's contents once you go deep enough.
If this planet is being mass harvested for it's gaseous compounds it would actually be possible for a lower stratum mining complex to gather more quantity of it in this liquid state, however it would require a better filtration process to remove solid debris after the Tibanna gas evaporates from it's pressurised form..
It's not out of question that scavvies might dig through this solid waste for salvage from crashed ships or valuables dropped from the cities.
Mind you, none of this is even addressed by canon, but it's not conflicting either and has some basis in real life astonomy; so it goes to show it IS plausible.
But Episode VII's main flaw is that it moved way too fast and explained nothing. Even though there were canon justifications, they weren't ever spoken aloud or presented on screen, so they seem obsurd.
My thought is someone found it and someone who actually knew what it was paid a hefty price for it. Maybe it got sold a few times in between. Eventually Maz got it
actually i have a question, isnt that Obi-Wahn's lightsaber just tweaked with a few mods?
theres a comp that shows his Ep.4 saber to the Luke Ep.6 saber and they look almost the same. Are they or did Luke make it to resemble it?
Luke's saber was modeled after Obi-Wan's, yeah. It's not unusual for an apprentice's lightsaber to be similar to their master's. But also because Luke had to use lightsaber schematics found in Obi-Wan's now abandoned hut.
since there seems to be a lot of wtf happened with his old one ill throw my guesses in 1. luke was heavier then the saber it went one way he went another makes sense maybe someone last something before kind of like a lost n found whereas heavier stuff was just dumped like actual garbage 2. mystical space crap that cant be explained 3. lightsaber is now a kind of force relic they exists and maybe its handlers and their crap have left its mark when rey touched it force stuff happened imediatly also ren tried to get it it didnt budge rey just looks at it and it flips at her normal saber doesnt really have that much kinda weight with force pull
