Oh my god, bad parking story.

Last term, some thick bitch parked her Ford Ka exactly like this in my university car park, only the gaps were literally 1cm, making it impossible for the parallel parkers to get out. So one of the parallel parkers got six friends to physically lift the car out of the gap and carry it into a marked parking space several metres down the gangway reserved for a senior lecturer.

The lecturer was in later that day. Whether the owner of the car found it or not I've got no idea, but it served her right.

Is that a bad parking job? It is that one of the best?
#14 to #12 - anon (04/22/2014) [-]
well since it's sticking out into the road it is a bad job

similar thing happened to me. except it was a normal parking lot, where cars park next to each other. I parked by new focus ST in the spot perfectly, I'm very OCD about my parking. I come back out later that day and some dumb bitch in a brand new explorer, still with temporary tags, is parked at a hardcore angle. they were over line by a large degree, and I couldn't back out of my spot, I had to maneuver ever so slightly and back out at an angle. all I could do not to damage the car.

oh the pain of college parking! I know how ya feel. I had 5 classes on one day (so I get there at like 8am and leave at around 6pm) and one morning a whole row of people were all over the lines (apparently some people got to the parking spots super early and parked like morons all jagged and over the lines)

well I did the best I could in the situation as it was the ONLY parking spot left and I was in a bit of a rush that morning. I parked my big truck in this terrible angle over 2 lines and walked in to class totally forgetting about my parking spot.

I get back out to the lot and all the cars are neatly parked (guess my parking neighbors all left) and my truck was the only one left at the odd angle. with a little wonderful note right on my window. someone had sat outside and wrote a whole page of amazingly hilarious comments about how terrible I was at parking and I couldnt help but laugh the whole way home thinking I wish I saw the person who wrote the note so I could shake their hand for the best laugh of my college career.

anyway TLDR: my truck was forced to park wrong and I got a great note about how much of an asshat I was for not knowing how to park when it wasnt my fault.

PS: colleges need to have bigger parking lots! we have like 5000 people attending and only room for 3k super annoying...but not my fault.

my college has a surplus of parking lots. but they still make everyone park like 2 ******* miles away. there's a huge lot right next to our dorms that is only 1/4 filled, so everyone from the far away lot started parking there, and we did this for all of first semester and half of second semester. the university caught on and gave everyone tickets. It pisses me off not that they did this because it's not like we were actually taking other peoples' spots, because we weren't. turns out nobody even filed a complaint. the university just saw an opportunity for extra revenue and took it. **** them.

I go to UF and our parking (at least for the medical field colleges) is hilariously terrible.

The parking lot is a 5-10 minute walk away (depending on your pace). Florida having crazy rain (like it does all the time)? You're gonna be showing up to your "professional" classes soaked, umbrella or not. Oh, and sometimes the path floods. That's nice too.

And having to walk that far, think there's enough space? Nope. The parking spots are tiny. Even if everyone parks in the lines, you'll still have to squeeze into the car. I wouldn't be surprised if some overweight people have been literally unable to get in their car.

And there's still not enough enough spaces for everyone to park. God help you if you're trying to find a spot at 11/12.

I got fed up with door dings, so I now park on the roof of a parking garage. Adds 5 flights of stairs to my 5-10 minute walk (but hey, exercise I guess), but there's fewer cars since it's a pain in the ass to get in and out of.
User avatar #79 to #74 - karson (04/22/2014) [-]
yeah, my dorm is about a 5-10 minute walk from my classes, but the parking lot is a good 20-30 minute walk from my dorm. I use my skateboard and can get there in a bit more than 10 minutes.

I once couldn't manoeuvre out of an unmarked parking space at university because the row of cars behind me was too close and two tits came up and parked beside me retardedly tight. I was basically boxed in. Wasn't having a good day that day, so the cunt in the silver Mondeo to the left got a MASSIVE black streak across the side of his car. All I suffered was a broken headlight bulb and a little bumper scuff, but I just painted that over.

There are way too many parking incidents at my university. Way too many. So much to complain about.
User avatar #48 to #44 - karson (04/22/2014) [-]
I wished I was driving my old truck when it happened to me, I would have done the same thing you did, albeit more aggressively, because it immensely pissed me off.

yeah, the students here drive like cunts, and because of them, this town has the most accidents in the state, and has been declared the worst town to drive in in the state.
I think it has something to do with all these people trying to show off with their ******* cars and v6 mustangs. all the dorms are at the top of a hill, and they run along a road that leads to the top of the hill. on any given day you can watch some slicked hair twats driving their blacked out 2005ish v6 mustang making less than 200 hp driving up and down the the road, slowly cruising and revving their cars at anyone who has a vagina. there are 2 things that make this hilarious. 1: their car sounds like **** , it's a straight piped V6, sounds worse than some ricey 4 cylinder cars. 2: it's an automatic, so they put it in neutral or park to rev. they literally stop in the road to rev, then keep going. once a guy stopped to rev while going up the hill, and started rolling backwards and nearly hit the car behind him. When I drive by the douchebags, they always get confused as hell by my blow off valve on my focus, lol.

I actually went to the Ford dealership for a new 5.0 mustang, test drove both. 5.0 is faster, but for some reason the ST just put a **** eating grin on my face. and I already have a mustang, so I went with the ST.

yeah, it pissed me off so bad, because I take care of my cars, and if others don't take care of their stuff, I dont care, but dammit don't put my car at risk in the process.

and yeah, I have:
1994 f250
1970 mach 1 mustang
2014 Focus ST.

I love my ST. so fun to drive. Getting it tuned this weekend if all goes well, then exhaust and bigger intercooler this summer.

Man that Focus is sick, yeah theres a girl in my year at school who can't park and a teacher who deliberately parks over two spaces which is crazy.

you in the UK? I'm jealous, we never get the previous gen ST or RS like you guys did. If they were sold in America, I would be driving a Focus RS without a doubt. It's one of my dream cars, but it would cost roughly 120k just to have it imported into the US.

which one do you prefer? the previous gen, or the newest ones, like mine?
#39 to #38 - ejiit (04/22/2014) [-]
Yeah i'm in the UK.
I prefer the previous gen (yours is sick though) knew a guy who had the same one as in the picture i posted and it sounded amazing.

The RS is pretty cool as well, one overtook me one day and it sounded brilliant.
User avatar #43 to #39 - karson (04/22/2014) [-]
yeah, they have a 5 cylinder engine, right? The ST sounds pretty good with a good aftermarket exhaust kit, especially ones where you can hear the turbo through the exhaust. Is the previous gen ST turboed? I know the RS is.

I wish the new style focus ST came in a 2 door option, I would rather have a 2 door, it would look closer to the RS.
I know the fiesta ST comes in 2 door over there, doesn't it? here the fiesta ST, like the focus ST, only comes in 4 door.

seriously, if ever win the lottery, **** buying some super cars or anything, I'm buying and importing a black Focus RS.
#57 to #43 - ejiit (04/22/2014) [-]
I'm pretty sure its turbo'd
Yeah i think the Fiesta ST comes in a 2 door
I'm exactly the same, not really one for supercars would rather have a Focus RS than something fancier.

when my dad was in college in the 70's he did something like this. someone parked a VW beetle behind his car to where he couldnt back out of his spot. he gets a few buddies to help him move it out of the way. they discover a pair of trees that look just far enough apart to fit the car in. apparently that car sat snugly between those trees for nearly a week until someone finally moved it.

yeah, even if they pay for it, if they don't have a car to park in it, why would they be mad when others park there? and then if they get a car, tell the people who normally park in their spot they want it back.

I understand it's their spot and they don't have to let others use it, but if they don't have a use for it, it seems kinda dickish to do that just so other people can't park there.

User avatar #23 to #21 - karson (04/22/2014) [-]
well at least leave a note saying they can park there with permission.

I understand, but it's still kinda dickish.
User avatar #25 to #23 - sursum (04/22/2014) [-]
Jesus Christ autocorrect...i wrote property not peppery...

Why would someone looking for a space use a owned spot even if it was empty? How could they assume they aren't just out, thus the car isn't there. Its dickiest of one to use it in he first place.
User avatar #27 to #25 - karson (04/22/2014) [-]
I thought you were trying to say property.

that's true, I didn't think of that. but the fact that they have a little car parked there with a note shows for a definite that they don't have a car to park there.

and yeah, someone shouldn't park there to take someone else's spot, but you could always just have them towed at the owner's expense.

If it were me and I didn't have a car, I wouldn't give a **** who parked there until I had friends or something over, then I would try to find the owner and ask them to move it. I would have it towed as a last resort.
User avatar #56 to #15 - ljlightfire (04/22/2014) [-]

User avatar #63 to #62 - ljlightfire (04/22/2014) [-]
it seems bad because it looks like its in a public space...but take it more like this
my yard has 2 driveways one mini one for no reason conected to nothing
its part of what we pay for as our house
people park in that driveway
is that wrong of them?
they are parked in our driveway we pay for but we dont use it and dont want them too
would it be wrong of me to block it off

if you pay for your rented space even tho it looks public its yours and should be free to do as you please with it
User avatar #81 to #63 - nandaaz (04/22/2014) [-]

User avatar #64 to #63 - karson (04/22/2014) [-]
but that's your yard. your yard is private property and goes with your house. when you live in an apartment complex, while you don't share spots, you do share the same parking lot. So even that is a little different. I get what you're saying.

I think i'm being misunderstood. like I said, "I understand it's their spot and they don't have to let others use it...."

they don't have to let others use it, since it is theirs. but if they don't have a use for it, it is petty and childish to do something to make others not able to use it simply because they don't want someone else using it. like something a bitter old lady would do or something.
User avatar #66 to #64 - ljlightfire (04/22/2014) [-]
heres the problem we are disagreeing on
see yes usually apartments have public parking that you share
this one clearly requires people to pay for their spot (imagine if the cost was raised 50$ a month for your spot) as such since they have to pay for it its not public parking like other places
User avatar #67 to #66 - karson (04/22/2014) [-]
oh I agree, they shouldn't be forced, I never said that. they should be able to do that if they want to. I never said that they shouldn't be allowed to to do that or anything. it just says a lot about them as people. ya know?
User avatar #68 to #67 - ljlightfire (04/22/2014) [-]
its kinda like a rebellion thing
like why are we forced to pay for what we dont use
my high school to park there as a student you buy a spot and thats your spot even if you dont use it no one can park there because you paid for it
these people are saying if we are forced to pay then you cant use it for free
they are preventing people from benefiting off their payments which is just as bad if not worse
User avatar #65 to #64 - ljlightfire (04/22/2014) [-]
but thats what im saying its their parking spot for all purposes they pay for it jsut like i pay for my yard
yes it would be nice to share it with others but you shouldnt be forced
unlike other places where the parking lot is public each resident pays for their spot as such if someone else uses it they are getting a free spot curtesy of the person they are stealing it from
its a dick move but if you pay for the spot it is yours not public
im not saying they are nice and not childish but they pay for it its theirs they can do what they want
User avatar #22 to #15 - otoshimono (04/22/2014) [-]
Should I also let you live in my house when I'm not there?
User avatar #24 to #22 - karson (04/22/2014) [-]
it's not the same thing, and it is foolish to act like it is. like I said, they're not using it, it seems kinda dickish to make sure nobody else uses it. I understand the whole "what if friends and family come over?" thing too, but it's still just a childish thing to do.

"I can't use it, but I don't want you to use it!"

I suppose that's a possibility. I have to pay 250 dollars a semester for one of the ********* parking spots "on campus." it's 2 miles away from any campus building or dorm. but I still wouldn't charge someone to park in my spot if I had no use for it. when I was in HS and drove my old farm truck, i had a girl who kept parking in my spot. first time I just went and parked right up in front of the main office, and I got away with it, but they told me not to do it again. she parked in my spot again, so I hooked her car up with a chain and pulled her out of my spot.

yeah, my '94 has the 351 5.8 V8, has 260k+ miles on it and runs like a champ. had the replace a house, it was spraying out coolant ever so slightly, but it was spraying it right into the radiator fan, and it was splattering it and spreading it everywhere.

and yeah, those ford straight 6's are bulletproof. but then again most straight 6's are. and they have the potential to be torque monsters. the fastest first gen mustang has a twin turbo straight 6, IIRC.
