This actually works, I was a nanny for nine years, and if a child starts yelling, or crying, you copy them and they stop. Kids just want to be the center of attention, so if you do the same thing as them they get annoyed and they'll shut up.

Oh god, I hate when kids have temper tantrums. Another reason why they're just not going to be for me.

i used to babysit a lot and i can confirm this. also when a kid says he cant wipe and is walking, talking, and is able to tie his shoelaces. look him straight in the face and say. "guess your going to be the stinky kid at school." and watch how fast they learn.

This is essentially what my mom would do, whenever I would throw a tantrum she would be like "no this is how you do it" and then just start rolling around on the floor screaming at the top of her lungs.

I have 9 younger siblings, 5 under the age of 10. I learned that when they do this **** it's best to completely ignore them rather than lose it. Sure it lasts a little longer, but if you keep doing that it happens less frequently and the tantrums become shorter.

I understand why someone would do this. I'm actually very patient, though some would see it as not giving a **** , but I can always out wait them they can't scream forever while looking at them like this

I work with little kids. General rule is if a kid starts screaming for attention or to get something they want, ignore it completely. They will eventually learn it won't get them what they want.

Also as a parent, remember that what you don't want your children doing, don't do yourself. They will learn to react to things based on how you react. If they see you and your spouse yelling and screaming at each other, they will learn to solve conflicts by yelling and screaming.
