**thehistorylover rolled image**Well ... in all fairness, the modern attitude is that getting in cars with strangers is dangerous, and picking up strangers is dangerous. Most people don't do that anymore because you never know who you'll be in contact with. When you see someone walking, your first thought shouldn't be, "I'm going to ask that person I don't know to get into my car with me." Just my two cents.

I understand that yeah, of course it would seem weird and makes perfect sense to be cautious. I have to say though, I doubt every person who asks is a murder and or rapist; it's a pretty small town, not really a crime hotspot. I believe she may be taking it the wrong way, getting offended so easily by people asking if she needs help.

Small towns does not equal safe. Hell, low crime rate isn't a 100% guarantee.

Touche touche. I'm not implying she should jump in every car that passes, but it's a little cynical to get this upset about it. Call me an optimist, I like to think people inherently have good intentions. No need to get so upset about being asked if you need a ride while walking home alone at night.
