Your amount of knowledge is based on education and upbringing. Your desire to seek out knowledge (curiosity) is probably a mix of nature/nurture. But your intelligence is genetic.
Take a child from a low IQ family and have it be adopted by a high IQ family. Guess what? Low IQ scores.
Take a child from a high IQ family and have it be adopted by a low IQ family. Guess what? High IQ scores.
The fun part is, there are enough adoptions that we've been able to test stuff like this. There's a great Norwegian/English documentary that I am unfortunately forgetting the name of, narrated by a famous Norwegian comedian that got the Nordic Gender Studies Institute shut down after it was released. But it goes through a lot of the nature/nurture debates like the preferences of boys/girls, racial differences, and IQ. In the end, a lot of it is a mixture of both, but IQ/Intelligence is predominantly genetic.
