wow, the way i wrote that sounds mega douchey .
What i meant to say was that i rarely get feedback and that any feedback at all would be much appreciated..

too late. from this day forth you shall be known as that mega douche.

lol but nah, this is actually pretty awesome. What all did you do on it? (i'm assuming the vocal portion isn't you, but the instrumental is?)

I dig it though! reminds me of something you'd hear on a video game. somewhere between FF and MGS ...with maybe a dash of anime intro music?

was the guitar all vst or hybrid with actual strings?

i guess this is more of a questionnaire than feedback haha

Thanks. I made the music in Guitar pro 6 and is entirely hq(mostly) soundbanks.
The vocals i made in Vocaloid 3 using the Avanna voicebanks.

Avanna has some minor quirks that you need to work around though.
Her voice is soft and it lacks power and i'm not good enough with the program to make her voice sound more powerful, but of all the english vocaloid she is by far the voicebank with the highest quality. also she has an celtic/irish accent and that shows sometimes.

oh, that end of it isnt a problem to me. im kind of a ****** engineer but i know how to at least beef up a pella lol (my biggest problem is i dont have monitors, so i cant really trust my sound. ill get the vocals to sound just right on my system - give it a test run in the car, and my vocals are CAPSLOCK LOUD AS **** lol

i mostly do underground hip-hop, but.. i play a little with the beat side too. mostly crazy drug beats haha my hearts definitely in lyrics

As long as i use my laptops inbuilt speakers i manage just fine with the levels.
I do however use a set of good expensive headphones to find as much clipping as possible.

well, the thing is all speakers "lie" to you in a sense. that's why people buy monitors its a raw sound

I just want people to give me constructive feedback. I'll listen to any song people want me to if they want to improve as well. There more you listen to from others, the more you learn yourself and can apply to your own stuff.
I hate when my friends just say that my music sounds "cool", I want them to strip it apart, and tell me what works and what doesn't.

haha yeah I feel you. i'm chcking out States and Lifecycles now... it sounds cool. i'm sorry i had to lmfao. but, on a serious note? I do enjoy this. As far as something to actually put critique on? Well, I suppose the kicks could stand out a little more...but i'm just a sucker for thumpin kicks and crunchy bass... it's the hip-hop head in me. I dig the strings though, the guitar element is done really well. Also... I suppose there could be more of a kind of...winding down intro? it just ended on me without much warning lol. I guess that'd REALLY be my only critique since not all kicks are meant to be in your face anyway

Thanks! I'll let you in on a little secret: The song actually doesn't have any bassline yet. I recorded it using my normal guitar, and pitched it an octave down, because I don't own a bass.
It's still a WiP, so I appreciate feedback!

haha nice. in my genre, it's rare to even HEAR real guitar anymore because it's all vst emulation.

I mean, don't get me wrong there's some awesome vsts out there but - it's nice to hear actual instruments still

Made me lol.

I've mostly played in metal bands during my teens. Electronic music is something I've picked up going into my 20's recently. Still have an affection for rock and metal though as you can hear - and there is a certain beauty to organic music, that the music industry today is ignoring completely.

the music industry today is like the newspaper industry...people just wonder why it's still around lol. i mean... we're in an era now where we have streaming media and global communication. why rely on a radio station to play the same 9 songs all day haha

like.. for me? I rap - and... to be really honest I don't care for nearly ANY of the "famous" **** the radio is pumping out right now. Mostly because hip-hop to me was an extension of blues, jazz, funk ect and the instrumentals reflected that.

now... it's just like everybody wants to be EDM.

I totally agree.

But it also worries me that we might be heading in a quantity-over-quality situation with the industry less willing to bet on artist development. The quality of self produced hobby-music is about on par with what we get from big professional artists now.

i'd be pretty OK with it if the industry fell. take down walmart and bring back the mom n pop shops.

people just arent supporting indie music anymore. they support whats popular because they think that's what everybody likes but it's a LOT of money being spent to make that **** appear popular. that's the worst part about it...there's so few true "fans" these days. just trend riders.

I don't know. It feels like the traditional music industry is trying to merge with the indie scene.
Same thing is happening in the games industry with self publishing being a big recent push - and you can see the negative consequences of this as well. We get some of the worst **** on Early Access because Valve doesn't step in enough and curate their content, but that's just really growing pains if anything.
The same thing has to happen to the music industry I feel. Some way to sell your music without publisher interference.

well, i've pretty much came to terms with the fact that my music, if i had to rely on it to survive, would probably have me in a van by the river lmao but yeah I know what you mean. And with the video games part... to be honest the newest game i own is san andreas and the only pc game i play is half life 2/cs (and cs aint even on a network lol)

i'm generally just stuck in the past i guess. i play mostly like... super nintendo roms and ****.

Really dig the sliding bass.
Not huge into rap music, but I really liked the lyrics because they were a little deeper than what you'd might expect form the title.
Singing was a bit off pitch, but I don't suppose perfect pitch contributes well to the style, as you did a good job of envoking the lazy attitude you have when you're high.
Keep it up!

to be completely honest? I don't jam all that much EDM - but, you do it well. I got a few friends that are more up that alley, i'll throw them your link. so.. if you see any feedback on your page from digital pulse, crazy or nothing, or epitom3 - you know where they came from haha.

As far as my own thoughts, personal genre taste aside? I dig the happy vibe I got from the 1st one...and the 2nd one had some CLEAN kicks. that doesn't happen by accident. that happens by a lot of compressing and eqing haha. good job.
