Actually, no. He understood that he had to die for our sins because only through such a sacrifice could the rest of us ever get into heaven, but he didn't want to die. In fact, as he was praying in the garden before the romans captured him, he begs of God, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me. Yet not my will, but yours be done." If Jesus is god then why would he say god has forsaken him? That would be like saying he has forsaken himself, yet it is worded as if the two are separate entities.

It's a reference to a verse in the Old Testament. Psalms 22:1, to be specific. He's calling attention to those passages in the OT, seeing as he's basically fulfilling it verbatim. Especially if you look at verses 11-18.
