camping out for social justice costs taxpayer money and further hurts the economy
camping out for products and services helps stimulate the economy. and it only occurs once a year. and people don't smell

Because hey, the economy's always more important than social justice. That's why we have slaves to do all the work for free so our economy's even stronger!

The pepper-spray incident at UCDavis had nothing to do with evil cops cracking down on peaceful protesters. Some people were camping out in tents on the quad, and stayed even after being formally evicted. The police came in to move the tents in accordance with the eviction order, and ended up arresting a few people who tried to interfere. As they tried to leave with the people they'd detained, the protesters formed a circle around them to prevent them from leaving, and began chanting "let them go". The police told them multiple times to get out of the way, and warned them multiple times that they would have to use force if the students didn't comply, one of the officers pepper-sprayed a row of students who were blocking the path to the squad cars.

It doesn't matter what they were protesting against earlier, at the time of the incident they were obstructing justice and therefore breaking the law.

I think the most widespread public opinion of people camping in front of stores for a TV is the one of an idiot, and a hell lot of people admire protestants who camp to pressure politicians to pass a new law or something.

Also, as this pic demonizes people who camp in front of stores, whats wrong with that? Except from the fact that you find it stupid and wouldn't do it, does it bother you in some way? I mean that guy just camped outside with his friends and family in competition with others, it can be exciting and I totally get why would someone do that (also you get cheaper goods).
And as the pic also wants to promote those camping for "social justice", thats super objective. Some decisions do install justice for the best, others are false good ideas and some are just plain ******* dumb (I'm thinking about the 75% tax over a million euros income in France, or the 1:12 initiative in Switzerland).

You can't simply generalize stuff like that.

TL;DR: This pic is just dumb

If you camp out for a cheap TV you're a "retard"
if you camp out for social change as through protesting means anything then you're a strong independent citizen.

While the message is nice, there's a difference between camping out for a night, and camping out for weeks like the OWS protestors.

If anything anti homeless laws were to blame for them being displaced...something those so called "liberal" hipsters probably support or don't care enough to change.

C'mon we've all been that guy who was aggressively panhandled or "felt bad" and said to ourselves "the cops should really move these people from there". The police simply put action to those thoughts.

And those very same laws that made it hard on the homeless, are being used to stifle the trust fund kiddies....in a way it's what people deserve for making laws that inconvenience others.
