If you pressure a tarantula into biting, you've done something very wrong. They are very docile when treated respectfully. The tarantulas you'll find at a pet store are more likely to expel their abdomen hairs which will cause a lot of pain to parts of the body that come into contact with them, but even then a tarantula is more likely to run like hell than attempt to fight against a giant human.
Tarantula bites are also virtually harmless to humans. Their venom isn't lethal; it might irritate your flesh a bit, but it won't cause any lasting damage. There's no record of a human dying from a tarantula bite.
Overall, tarantulas are pretty chill pets if you just handle them with care.
I'm scared as **** of tarantulas, but my science teacher had a snake as well, and I loved that snake, he would wrap around my arm for the entire period. It was a beautiful thing
Oddly enough, I get paranoid as **** when around smaller critters, spiders included (especially bees, **** bees--wasps, too, while we're at it--hell, make that anything with a stinger). But when it's big enough that I can track it wherever, I don't mind at all.
Fair enough, usually I panic when I first see the spider, but after a few seconds of realizing that it's there I can calm down enough to look at it plainly. I hate scorpions and wasps even more than I dislike spiders though
