If it was a guy, you wouldn't have tried and find something to bitch about. You would have been impressed but no, since it's a woman you have to **** all over it.
sure, anyone getting an apple shot of their head is brave,
but she set it up before hand making sure where it would hit, it would've been braver if a person shot at her.
unless she set it up without trying it out in which case yeah that pretty impressive
I don't see you going out to try this. Even if its pre-set up, you're still hoping none of the 6 crossbows twitches even a fraction of an inch, or else they could glance off the targets and injure or kill her, or a bystander. If their brackets were loose even a little, this could have ended in a morgue trip.
An iota of an inch off and its her skull or some poor ****** behind her. She has the balls to hope 7 crossbows all fire PERFECTLY to take an apple off her head.
You on the other hand don't even have the balls to log in.
she has the balls to hope 1 crossbow hits it's target, which you could always stick down after firing it god knows how many times and then positioning yourself in the shots way
The other 6 just need to hit a medium sized target, if they miss the trick stops. Its not like if crossbow 3 misses, crossbow 4 is going to swing around to face her and fire into her side
No, if you watch the video link, she has to adjust each one very carefully.
If she is off even by an inch, the bolt could glance off and ricochet into the audience.
If it missed completely, thats a bolt flying at an average of 345 feet per second directly off stage into the waiting acts.
Not only that, but even the best of marksmen can miss a shot.
FURTHERMORE, all of the target crossbows are on swivels, so they can be easily adjusted. If one of those swivels comes loose and the shock from the bolt hitting the target jerks it out of alignment, it could also spell disaster.
Yes, the execution takes little talent, but the balls it takes to even attempt this, let alone the planning, execution, and preparation to set this up just right to be sure it always hits the mark, is what makes it a truly impressive spectacle of fortitude and gumption.
but courage is relative. I'm fine with all animals and insects, don't care when I would be doing jumps on my bike and getting battered ...I know how cool I sound but am scared of heights, even when strapped and secured.
If she's been brought up with crossbows since birth, training to do the stunt for 10 years and has performed it many times, for her, it wouldn't take much courage, yet she could be scared of the tiniest of spiders instead and her holding one wouldn't be viewed as courageous to many
The argument that it is already set up as a demotional value to the stunt is laughable at best. Movies are set up months and sometimes years before hand, yet we find them so entertaining that its one of the biggest industries in the United States.
Sports games are set up before hand to maximize the safety of its players through careful study of PPE (personal protective equipment) and the body, though we still enjoy the games.
Even video games are all set down in stone for you, with limitations to what one can do, yet again, we still spend billions paying for them, just to enjoy a few hours (or im my case, 1000 on Skyrim alone), because we find them fun.
Moral of the Story: Just because it is pre-planned and set up before hand, doesnt make it any less spectacular.
Added Note: Ever tried playing golf or baseball without practice? Great way to look like a jackass. Practice is the backbone of anything worth doing.
allow me to demonstrate the effect known as ricochet:
This is when a projectile fails to penetrate an object, and bounces back from the forces of its own momentum. In plain terms, it bounces off in another direction, much like a ball against a wall. Now, If any of those target pans were even slightly tilted, there would be a very high chance that the bolt could glance off, since the targets must be somewhat dense to stop a speeding crossbow bolt, and injure someone in the audience, the crew, or the woman.
This aim can be off in 2 places: The angle of the target itself, or the bolts trajectory. If the target is off, it can turn into a ramp, rather than a wall to stop the projectile. If the bolts trajectory is at an angle, it will ramp off the target in the worst case scenario.
An iota of an inch off probably would still hit the apple.
It would have to be a few inches off. I mean, yeah, it's scary, but talent? No. The only talent is not ******** herself.
