Usually if you step as close as you can to the edge of the stairs, you'll not make any noise or at least a reduction in noise. This is where the stairs are usually held up and have the most support.
hell ya bro! I had a basement bedroom once I hit 14. Finally asked for my own room separate from my bro. It's awkward fumbling at the girls with your 10 year old brother in there. Built that **** up from the floor, put the pergo flooring in and had a sliding window that I could go right outa.
I've had this room since I was born tho.. Not a smart decision really, when I was 6 I snook out the window. Kept doing it until I got caught. My parents scolded me, I didn't care and kept doing it. Then I got caught again and my dad screwed shut... I didn't get the chain off the window until I was 14 aka a couple months ago
Either learn which steps make noise, or just walk downstairs and make some food in the kitchen, say you couldn't sleep. If no-one comes down you can just leave.
