a lot of the times they edit these photographs heavily! taking 50+ photographs of the same set, and then cherry pick what they like best of each photograph, say the background is better in one then the rest, and then the ruffles in the girls jacket is better then the rest, and or the guy looks great in this shot but he's not high enough so they photoshop him to be more elevated and Frankenstein the two of them into what they wish it to look like
