This year I don't need help justifiably, so I want to help them help others.

Wonderful organisation, if you have a spare ten bucks and want a giggly feeling from doing good.. You could spend ten bucks on worse.

OP promised that he'd donate two cents to TFT for each upvote.
"Giving your two cents" is a phrase meaning 'to give your opinion'.
The pictured character is Carlos, from The Magic Schoolbus book and cartoon series, known for making bad jokes, to which everyone else replies "Carlos!".

If everyone on Fj gives a thumb that'd be $12
User avatar #121 to #4 - majormayor (12/11/2015) [-]
That's pretty freaking sad, man.
User avatar #85 to #4 - sphincterface (12/10/2015) [-]
Ehhh...considering how much the charity gets from small donations every year from so many people, 12 dollars is a pretty nice donation.

I mean, even 5 bucks is enough to get a toy for a kid. And there are so many people who already donate enough. Personally though, I like giving big donations anyways. It makes me feel nice, makes me feel a lot better than giving just 5 dollars or 10.

I've done this before with a different charity. It was 63 bucks, but hey.. 63 bucks.

2 cents. For every thumb. $12 is 1200 cents. 1200/2 is 600
User avatar #109 to #4 - deathstare (12/11/2015) [-]
Isn't it currently $59

Considering 1 thumb = $0.02

2948 thumbs = $0.02*2948

So he currently owes them $58.96

100 pennies=1 dollar.

2 years ago on August 26th, I quit my job that paid 19 bucks an hour, because of injuries sustained 3 years ago falling 2 1/2 stories while working. I was in a wheel chair when my wife had given birth to my second daughter and I had realized that it was time to take the time off of work to heal. I'll never have the same functionality or pain free walking experience that everyone else seems to have.. But I was jobless two years ago at Christmas time and used crutches to get around. Last year on August 8th, I started the job I have currently, against doctors recommendations. I still walk with a cane but I'm able to do my job. I started my job getting paid 105 a week, then I started working 7 days a week and got paid 210 each week. Shortly after my wife gave birth to my third child and all of that **** . Around January (after last year's Christmas) my salary got doubled again by accepting a second contract and doubled my hours to a full time employee. On August 8th this year I got a 250 a month raise for working every day besides when I had gotten my vasectomy.

Toys for tots helped when I had no income, they helped when I had a ****** income and now I want to help them now that I make nearly $500 a week and my wife makes around $600 every two weeks. I don't know if you've ever told a 3 year old that santa might miss out house, but it's not a good feeling and toys for tots helped prevent that.
User avatar #44 to #34 - terribletim (12/10/2015) [-]
"falling 2 1/2 stories while working" you should sue the company, certainly some OSHA rules have to been violated for something like this to happen. Sorry to hear that this happened, your a good person, you should take care of yourself and not push yourself too hard for your family's sake. what do you do for a living? Life is crazy sometimes, I've had my share of troubles, but they look insignificant compared to yours, soon as i get a stable job I hope i can donate to this charity.

I was sub contracting at that point. Needed my own insurance and didn't have it.

Now , I clean a skyway system over night.
