It's also true that part of the reason why those dinosaurs seem lifelike to us watching it is that we've never seen real dinosaurs, so we have no grounds for comparison for things like textures and movement.

They seemed lifelike to you? Damn, I'll have what you're having.
Seriously though, CGI blows

Actually, through basic anatomy and through skin/feather impressions we do know what some dinosaurs truly looked like and how they moved. We even now know the actual colors of some dinosaurs due to how well preserved there feathers are (look up Anchiornis huxleyi for the most popular example). Also here is what a modern day dinosaur looks like.

it's also been found out that T-rex probably was feathered

I thought it was an okay movie, and pretty good as far as reboots go.

It was certainly enjoyable, but I wouldn't call it good.

I agree, was OK for a movie, not a timeless film as the original was though

Except the excessive use of CGI over the practical effects was definitely one of the movie's bad points. CGI is good for a lot of things, but I think they really overdid it in some places. All the CGI just ended up looking really plastic and fake.

I wish hollywood would take note of this. "Good" CGI is CGI that you don't notice.

breaking news pokemons are not real creatures, peta have been filed a suit by Nintendo for harassing over animal abuse claims that had cost Nintendo millions of unsold pokemon games.

that's not what the tweet was trying to say...

Because it's easy to make CGI creatures without fur. WITH fur however, cg animals come out ugly and inauthentic. Remember the movie 10,000BC? yup.
