sgtmajjohnson (2 hours ago) [-] It's also true that part of the reason why those dinosaurs seem lifelike to us watching it is that we've never seen real dinosaurs, so we have no grounds for comparison for things like textures and movement.

oakleysama ONLINE (10 minutes ago) [-] Actually, through basic anatomy and through skin/feather impressions we do know what some dinosaurs truly looked like and how they moved. We even now know the actual colors of some dinosaurs due to how well preserved there feathers are (look up Anchiornis huxleyi for the most popular example). Also here is what a modern day dinosaur looks like.

doctorprofessornv (1 hour ago) [-] Except the excessive use of CGI over the practical effects was definitely one of the movie's bad points. CGI is good for a lot of things, but I think they really overdid it in some places. All the CGI just ended up looking really plastic and fake.
