People complain about EA because their games are shitty, incomplete and expensive and require tons of dlcs to work.

And obviously consoles need some popular games to sell well, and Mario and Zelda games are the most popular ones. Plus the order of release dates for those games are messed up. Super Mario 3D Land is what saved the 3DS.

Everyone bitches that Nintendo repeats itself but when they try something new everyone shits on it. People bitched about KI:U's controls, no one bought Wonderful 101, and no one is going to buy Splatoon.

"Fuck this mario and zelda shit! I'm sick of it! Nintendo needs to make new IPs! They're just lazy and keep putting out the same shit!!"

Or maybe if you actually supported and bought the new IPs they make, Nintendo would make more of them. But you buy Mario and Zelda. Therefore, they make more Mario and Zelda.

There is a lot of problems with the Wii U in general. We'll start from the base and work our way up.
Firstly, their poor release games. There weren't that many and they weren't that great.
Secondly, lack of any party support, really. They denied first party games for third party ones, and in time, lost first party support and had a bunch of shitty third party games.
Thirdly, their inability to innovate. They honestly keep rehashing and recreating Mario games, and rereleasing old Zelda games. What were they expecting?
But I'm happy to say that Hyrule Warriors looks amazing, and the new brawl looks bad ass. It will save the system, hopefully.

Wii U was rushed out the gate under pressure by stock holders and lacked any worthwhile launch titles besides ZombiU. That is a poor business decision, but not a problem with the console itself years after.

Nintendo consoles have lacked much third party support for years now, but first party Nintendo games (published and/or developed) are nearly always of high quality, and there are already enough on the console as of now to support it, and there will be mush more by the end of the year. No one buys a Nintendo console for third party games. It sucks that they don't have more, but that's not a big issue.

The "New Super Mario Bros." franchise is really the only series of Nintendo games that I concede are shameless "rehashes." If you consider any other series to be a "rehash" then you are either a parrot or an idiot. Also, "innovation" is not important. "Good games" are important. Nintendo still makes good games, whether they are "innovative" enough for you or not.

Don't mind me, I'm just here waiting patiently for Wii U version of Animal Crossing.
Just waiting a couple years for the announcement, then another 3 years of delayed release.

>And people complain about EA?

Yeah, because of shitty costumer support and the fact that they release unfinished games and expect everyone to buy the DLCs to finish it.

At least Nintendo releases a new game and doesn't make 200 DLCs for one game.
#40 - anonymous (07/10/2014) [+] (3 replies)
Well, the only reason anyone buys those consoles is because they only release their games as exclusives on their own consoles like a bunch of fucking dicks.

Was the 3DS ever considered dead? I thought it had always been selling really well

People that claim Nintendo does nothing but "rehash" the same games over and over again are people that haven't played a Nintendo game in years. The only series that this criticism applies to is the "New Super Mario Bros Series." Every game is essentially the same and relatively soulless compared to other Mario titles.

Also, if you are going to wonder why people "complain about EA," here's a little insight:

EA is hated because they are a shitty, terrible publisher with shameful business practices that not only attempts to squeeze every dime they can from video game consumers, but also kills many beloved series. Prime examples are the Mass Effect series and the Dragon Age series.

Whether or not you like Nintendo games is up to you, but regardless of whether the games or systems pictures above appeal to you, Nintendo is not even remotely close to EA in terms of being an awful company. I am not sure if any company in the video game industry can compare to EA in that regard.

That's not all, Nintendo is still developing their secret weapon.

The problem with the Wii U was that Nintendo deliberately held back with first party games because third parties were complaining how their games don't sell when they have to compete against first party releases. The Wii U was supposed to bring back the third party support to Nintendo. But instead scumbags like EA completely dropped it because Nintendo didn't want their shitty Origin system on the Wii U and started doing an active anti-Nintendo campaign.
Now Nintendo takes it in it's own hands, releases the games we've all been waiting for and people are surprised why it's suddenly doing well.

I have both, dunno why. Vita>3ds imo and nintendo is boring now. hurr nostalgia
#49 to #33 - anonymous (07/10/2014) [-]
You are allowed to have your opinion, as are others. If you want to compare the two handhelds, then do so. But if your argument is "Nintendo is boring now" and "hurr nostalgia" then it is pretty clear you haven't thought this through at all. Honestly, you aren't even worth the effort I am putting into this reply just to point out that saying "hurr" completely invalidates any point you might think you are making. But ah well. I already typed this much.

Nintendo's problem is lack of good starters
ofc, there's still a problem of their controller on wii U
people don't really trust such kind of 'new revolutionary controller'
can't really blame them after move/kinect
couldn't they just make a standard pad?
as for 3DS, it wasn't new enough
so it needed some good games which wouldn't be just remakes from DS
using just 3D as the only argument was just silly
let's be honest though, N was always a good brand and even their fuck-ups aren't that bad
so, why wouldn't we complain about EA

Windwaker sales: 0.98M
Ocarina of Time sales: 3.36M, reached 1M in 10 weeks

New Super Mario Bros U: 4 million (Best selling Wii U game)
New Super Mario Bros 2: 7 million

Luigi's Mansion DM: 3.72M
Pikin 3: 0.78M

Mario 3D Land: 9 million
Mario 3D World: 2 million

The only time the Wii U sales where "improving" was during the sales of Mario Kart 8, after that it started selling less than xbone and ps4 again. You can't just really on hits to help your system up, you need steady sales. The only times Wii U will be relevant in sales is during Zelda and Smash Bros but after that they're dead.
