except I barely remember anything of the original teen titans. I even rewatched them, was meh. I'm saying just at Go!'s own level, it's utter **** .
People say it's aimed at kids, but it constantly references shows that were only popular during the 80's on a scale that rivals family guy's constant references, so it can't since they wouldn't get it.
People say it's its own show, but it's had like two or three episodes referencing its previous iteration. Hell, one entire episode calling out fans who said the show was **** starting out hyping up Slade and **** . THEN a later episode saying it IS utter **** compared to the original and shouldn't have been rebooted (i'm also ignoring how they used reboot wrong in it too)
By all rights and reason, the show, on any standard wither judged by itself or compared to previous iteration, is utter **** .
Also, Steven Universe is as awful as its fanbase. Whinny bull **** about characters who have no redeeming features who kick around the fat annoying autistic kid,
character development means a change of character through an action and for the better, but steven universe has none of it. The Gems still **** on steven, steven has only gotten minor balls compared to the none he has had prior which is the only bit of character development i've seen other than the green one being less of a snooty **** , but that was her entire thing of why she's entertaining.
Pearl has turned into a crybaby piece of **** . Amythst has turned into either none existent in the show to just an ass hole who's always grumpy, and Garnet is still utter stoic voice of reason who shows no emotion despite half of her being of pure rage made into a personality.
If anything, they've shown some backstory but it doesn't really change anything. I've lost all faith in the show after that awful cringey talent show episode, especially its ending. The Cluster episode is going to be 2 minutes of actual fighting of what they've built up, 9 minutes of them sitting in a circle talking about how it made them feel I can already tell.
Yeahhh... except Pearl accidentally revealed how Rose's death ****** her up,
it was revealed how she was channeling her dissatisfaction with her failure to protect Rose by using Connie as a proxy, when they caught her she had understood that it's wrong and she stopped.
Except Amethyst later revealed that the conditions of her own birth continues to bother her deeply and dislikes being reminded about it. She learned to ditch the past and embrace the future.
Steven gradually began trying ever harder to fight like a gem using his human wits, and later had become capable of using his shield as a weapon, rather than just a simple defense. From a wimpy little kid, he grew to be stronger and combined his human strengths with his limited gem powers to solve major problems.
Connie went from a nerd afraid of showing her parents Steven's family and later grew on to be able to confront it head on, and even became a co-dependent fighter alongside Steven.
Garnet later on revealed how she was actually a fusion all along, and that despite her cool nature, forced fusions are the one thing that petrify her the most. She continues to improve by learning to be less of a control freak and allowing the group to be democratic, rather than having her just being the sole leader.
You stopped at 4 episodes in, I'm betting on it.
But that's okay, you don't have to watch the show.
Just say "meh it's not my thing", because you never even got a chance to properly enjoy a chunk of the plot.
You've got a bias, my friend.
I am open minded and give things a chance before shooting them down.
This is why I can enjoy many shows and fandoms without having to ostracize them unnecessarily.
oh no, I assure you, i'm not missing anything. When you're making a show that has consistency and character development, you need to make sure you have character consistency as well.
Amythist is still bugged by her past as seen in the episode where she bonds with the green one whose name escapes me for a moment, then snaps it off, the turns it back on again for reasons. The whole episode of "moving on from her past and she's fine" is utterly ignored when she nearly shuts down from the green one saying she's defunct.
only thing connie was afraid of was her parents, like any kid. She must have suicidal thoughts though as not having fears being around steven despite evil space hand and ******* magic colosseum and sword training vs shape shifting magic science future aliens.
you say steven grew a pair, but i'm still seeing him being treated as the groups kicking bag, not punching since that might imply he's standing, no he's on the floor being kicked. He didn't tell them off for their **** test. The gems still think he's an utter idiot despite always being right, and he constantly shouts everything.
And Garnet making the group more democratic but knowing the other members is horrifically stupid. Pearl and Amythist can barely stand each other, the only reason they do is the turd known as steven. She's the only one who can actually fight.
Yeah except Steven didn't just "back down" from the test,
he decided to be mature and reflected at the effort the gems went through to make sure he's safe and they play their role as his mothers. He found out how they were doing this just to make him feel better, and while he felt betrayed by that, he seemed more concerned about how they were willing to play a white lie on him rather than risk his life.
It goes without saying that he's proven himself to be a proper co-dependent fighter with Connie, and both fought Pearl together to make a point(hence the part where she was confronted about her manipulative training)
