I once had a heatwave during my vacation in italy, having ~50°C for an entire week
As a belgian, i'm used to 30°C at most.
Luckily, i proved heat resistant and went on my merry way while everyone around me boiled in their skin.
User avatar #244 to #243 - BmanX (12/02/2013) [-]

User avatar #247 to #246 - BmanX (12/02/2013) [-]
Now why would they vote against that!?
User avatar #248 to #247 - kinginthenorth (12/02/2013) [-]
It'd take up the entire/most of the day and they didn't exactly feel like spending an entire day walking around in (i quote) "Some boring old city".
For my parents, it was kinda a sign of "Yeah, they wouldn't appreciat the costs we make for it and neither can we leave them home alone for an entire day."

I still wish we went, but i'll have to go myself when i'm older and i've got the money to spare.
I just wish we could visit Roma someyear soon.
User avatar #249 to #248 - BmanX (12/02/2013) [-]

We just kinda took a "Rest easy" vacation, where we go live on a camping for 2 weeks.
Overall, it was pretty relaxing, but that Florence visit would've made it a lot better.

I don't know, I feel that most highly populated Quebec cities are at 3/4 bilingual. I can see the Eastern Townships and some of the more remote places being only french but most everywhere I go I can find someone who can speak English. Perhaps I've just gotten lucky?
User avatar #258 to #255 - hacking (12/03/2013) [-]
Sure, go to Montreal or Laval and everybody speaks english, but that's not even a tenth of Quebec's population. In Quebec (the city), try to find anglophones or bilinguals over 25 years old. And any suburbs. Anything not close to Montreal actually.

Yea I suppose when it comes to Quebec city and the like you aren't prone to find too many Anglophones. I live in an English area of the Eastern Townships and before that I lived on the South Shore of Montreal, so I'm used to it being bilingual almost everywhere I go.

well, i just got told but still i dont see much of a difference.
User avatar #272 to #269 - anthonyh (12/05/2013) [-]
Well it's a completely different species, but they're both in the Aceraceae (maple) family. The easiest way to tell the difference of the leaf is the shape of the lobes. The sugar only has 3 and they're more squarish, while the silver has 5 and is pointier. The red maple is a mixture of the two: 3 pointy lobes.

The only reason why we have French listed as an official language is to please the dumbasses in Quebec. Canada is still an English-speaking country, so I don't see why Canada's flag couldn't be used in relation to English.
User avatar #191 to #189 - meganinja ONLINE (12/02/2013) [-]
I'm not saying it can't be. But there's no reason that it should be used. If you're making something just for Canada? Using Canadian flag won't make sense. North America? Canada is less relevant (no offense, but there's much less people there) than the USA. Worldwide? Why wouldn't you just use the UK flag? It's like using the New Zealand flag for English. There's no scenario it will really make sense to use it.
