Girl game developer got caught cheating on her boyfriend with numerous men. Boyfriend posts the men she cheated with online, some of who include her boss, a reviewer who positively reviewed her game, and a few judges for game awards. Gamers are pissed, thinking she was trying to **** her way into success, because her game is actually pretty bad, and not very well done. Feminists come to her aid, angry that so many nerdy gamers were slutshaming her. Reddit and 4chan start banning posts about it, so people start to think its all a big coverup. Several other(possibly real, possibly not) scandals involving journalists eventually came out. Feminists turn the conversation away into a sexism thing. And thats about where everyone is up to here. Probably missed some stuff.

All I'm saying is that here are the facts we know:
-This is a screenshot of a post made by Milo Yiannopoulos on Twitter
-Time stamp is September 21st, 2014 at 5:30 AM
-We do not know any details on the content shown other than that is a syringe partially filled with an unknown substance laying on a postal folder. We do not know about the history of those items such as where they came from or what was done to them or who was handling them.

The situation itself is so unique that we cannot confidently guess what happened based off face value alone. What was Milo doing up at 5 AM checking his mail? Why wouldn't he contact the authorities first, or mention that he has contacted the authorities? What would make him feel the need to post such a thing on a public social media site?

I'm not calling it impossible, but it's hard to believe without any other information.

While it is certainly possible that they are fake, we should also remember what Kotaku and the other sites have told us: listen and believe, side with the victims, never ask questions. Essentially, use their own tools against them. If they raise the questions themselves, then they can be called out on their hypocrisy, whereas questioning it ourselves without evidence hurts our own image and can cause division. While not the most moral of grounds to stand on, simply think of how it would look: "Heads of Misogynistic Movement Faked Own Threats to Gain False Public Sympathy". They'd conveniently ignore the fact that it was rooting out our own corruption, as seen in their ignoring of people identifying those who have threatened Quinn and Sarkesian previously.

No argument from me that it's terrible. It was from one of the talks, alongside slogans such as "Weaponize nice" and other worrying statements. The grounds are that you need to simply take what they say at face value because if you question anything, then you're being oppressive (lolwut). These people want to get rid of the peer review process for their published scientific articles for ****** sake. The victim statement comes from a GiantBomb writer (see attached), referring to the typical agenda we've seen in most video game journalism as the correct side. As such, they side with the victim, but don't forget that this only applies if the victim is an individual they have a personal connection to or is someone crying about abuse or misogyny. Any other victim isn't progressive enough to defend (the Max Tempkin issues and David Jaffe's confrontation with Ben Kuchera come to mind).

But some of you seem to think he's threatening physical violence. If you read a lot of the things he's saying, he's planning on doing some weird, sketchy, 'legal' ******** to 'hurt' her. He isn't incredibly clear on what he's threatening to do, but it seems to have to do with elected officials and him making phone calls. He's threatening several other people in the same way, and he seems on to plan on making them lose their jobs or not get any funding. He's said several times he doesn't support any physical violence.

Continuing considering him an asshat, but make sure you understand why he's an asshat.

He's said several times he does not support any physical threats against women.
Men on the other hand are an entirely different stories, as he's given death threats to several.

No, I didn't say anything like that, I was just clarifying on a single issue.
I agree with FJ on this whole thing but if you guys are going to be posting wrong information and saying things like "She should buy a gun!" I'm going to speak up and say something, so you guys don't look stupid later on when you accuse him of physically threatening someone, especially considering he went out of his way to clarify he wasn't.

I liked her video "Are Videogames Sexist?" because it was the first one made by a woman that didn't turn into a witch hunt towards anyone who self-identifies as a gamer, but I couldn't help but feel that she was also pandering just a bit to GGer's side, idunno, maybe its just me.
