As far as I can recall, Batman and Robin are the only ones I remember who actually uses it to their advantage than just putting it on to look cool.

Sometimes Superman uses his cape to block debris and stuff falling on him.

I've never really read comics but I did spend a day just wikiing superheroes and their neat powers, and found that the Green Lantern's power is ineffective against anything yellow because the beast Parallax was sealed in the green Battery from which all green rings get their power.
Once when the Green Lantern fought Superman, Superman used his cape to defend against the Green Lantern's attacks because of its yellow "S".

batman uses it to glide, is pretty useful for making explosions look 10x better with him gliding away from it

The ending fight between Nite Owl and Ozymandias looks cooler with the capes. Nite owl also uses it to glide for a brief moment.

Batman's cape is made out of a type of memory fabric which it allows the structure to become rigid on the bases skeleton when exposed to an electric current thus allowing him to glide through the air as shown in The Dark Knight trilogy.

Since Batman fights in the dark the cape make it harder to shoot him in a vital area.

All the baddies see is a big dark shape so when they shoot at it they're likely to hit the cape.

Batman's cape, aside from it being functional in helping him to glide, also serves as part of the purpose for a costume to instill fear in criminals. One (or more) of the Robins' capes also have a level of indestructibility from the material its made of.
Superman's cape came with him when he was sent to Earth - he was wrapped in it, and it's as strong as he is.

Some heroes have a definite purpose to why they wear capes, some just wear it for ***** and giggles.

Batman uses his to fly, plus his and Robins are heat resistant, and made of a very tough substance.

Fun Fact, In Watchmen an athlete hired by a bank died because his cape got stuck in a revolving door and he was shot. Dollar Bill. Nite Owl decided to not have a cape after that.

Blue lantern is worthless without a green lantern around but, with a green lantern around is almost unstoppable.
