Jesus Christ this is like the 8th post about this, so let's get a few things straight.

1. It's happened multiple times before
2. Every federal employee is still getting paid
3. Necessities like security and communications departments, including the FBI & USPS are still running normally
4. Nothing drastic ever ******* happens when the government "shuts down"
5. Obamacare is still in effect
6. If you talk about "anarchy" or "revolution"you need to be ******* culled for your stupidity
7. FJ should never talk about politics because it's full of retarded 12 year olds
8. **** you
9. I hate you
10. Kill yourselves
11. My anus is prepared for red thumbs
12. Kill yourselves again

Okay guys, here's the deal:Currently, Republicans control the House of Representatives and Democrats control the Senate. Every year the two houses have to agree to a budget for that year's spending. Republicans in the House are using this opportunity to try to repeal the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare), or at least to weaken it by cutting several aspects from it. Since neither party can agree on this issue (it's been voted on nearly 40 times), the budget cannot be agreed upon, so the government "shuts down". Everything that is deemed to be an "essential" service is still operating, however, so the military, intelligence, social programs, and so on continue, but things such as national parks and museums close.

TL;DR: The government is still operating at about 83% capacity.

We're not defined by our government. And besides, with less government workers working to enforce regulations, there's currently more freedom!

I heard this from other people who were probably biased in their own way so i wouldn't believe, I'm just giving you something to think off i guess. But I think the republican congress shutdown (ended funding) the government in an attempt to stop obamacare from going in to affect. I also heard that it's going in to affect anyways. Idk why they wanna stop it, I also heard it's supposed to make more coverage and make it more affordable (the Health insurance) Again only what i've heard from other people, who were probably biased, I don't follow politics enough to have my own opinion.

'Merica is not the government. It's the people of the country. When the government takes a day off and the whole country stands up to say "We don't ******* care" you need to realize that they don't have as big an influence over us as other countries think. The Queen is not England. Putin is not Russia. Moose are not Canada. A country is made by its people, not its government. America never takes a day off, even if 100 lazy ***** in congress do.

the thing that pisses me off is despite congress being in limbo, the congressmen and women are still getting paid their huge salaries. ******* politicians.

What's ironic is that the when there's less of the government functioning, there's more freedom, so freedom hasn't taken a day off at all.

Is it tax free weekend yet?
