But his soul is the most heroic we've seen yet. Saitama may be more heroic, though.
Genos protecting that little kid was also very scary looking, but at the same time it was a sign he's becoming more heroic. Does need to stop lowering his guard, though.
Whats heroic about Saitama? The dude literally doesnt care that he saves people, only that he gets to fight someone who can match him. Seems very unheroic to me.
A hero's spirit isn't measured by how strong he is, but how he handles battle.
Also, have you even watched OPM? He doesn't really go out of his way to make sure he saves everyone, but he does save what he can. He blocks a car from hitting a kid for no reason, and not to mention his 'origin' was his unconscious need to save those in front of him. That's why he beat the crab man.
Saitama sacrifices his popularity to make sure no one else loses face for his strength. If he was better at talking to people, he'd probably get it back, like when he yells at the crowd the Tank Top Brothers summon he says he doesn't save them because he's a registered hero, but because he wants to.
"He doesn't really go out of his way to make sure he saves everyone"
And thats the problem. When he beat that gigantic bodybuilder brother in one of the first episodes, it didnt seem to matter to him at all thousands of people were probably crushed when the giant fell over. Before he got registered, half the time, the only reason he even fought baddies was usually by accidentally stumbling upon them.
Saitama has the makings of a hero in him, but he isnt heroic, atleast not to me.
Mumen Rider, now theres a heroic dude (Andpossibly the dumbest hero theme ever. I love it!).
If he didn't stop the body builder, a lot more people would have died, y'know. He couldn't have just vaporized the guy's body and apparently the threat wasn't enough for the Hero Association to mess with since no one was around until after he was defeated. Considering how slow Saitama is to get to the fight, that should probably give you an idea of how much they didn't care, or at least how strong the body builder was.
Also, it's not like he's omnipotent. He's not going to know where all the bad guys are, so he only reacted to the big ones being reported on the news.
So, I dunno. I think holding the idea that there can't be any losses in a hero's fight is pretty silly.
Its not so much about whether there will be casualties or not, it how you react to them. Saitama was more concerned with how he didnt find a worthy opponent, than the destruction below. A truly heroic person would help search the rubble.
Saitama just doesnt seem to care half the time, though atleast in this latest episode it looks like hes beginning to.
