i'm not even sure they're real soldiers. as people point out, they're british, and the uniforms are kind of the same, but they just look too light to be real, and the helmets are grey

The helmets are grey because they dont have a helmet cover on. Literally just a piece of cloth that goes over the actual helmet. These guys are probably doing their first bit of combat training.
