Lol I love how they always give Vikings Scottish accents... I mean, to be fair, the kingdom of Norway (where most the Vikings were from) did own and colonize much of the Scottish highlands... So I guess it does make sense after all...
A single person going over that mountain is possible, but when you have to transport another person who needs medical attention that's a big ass mountain. It doesn't look like finding stable footing is easy, imagine going down that while carrying a sick/injured person.
Because yes, the doctor can magically cure her with no medical equipment. Anytime anyone gets sick or injured? Sure, lets just climb the doctor over this mountain each time! There needed to be a road built, and the man built it.
I'm not saying that the road didn't need to be built, but is it not possible to just pack up the needed equipment and ruck it over the hill? It's also possible to ask people to help if they needed it
Considering he took 22 years to do it I reckon the picture doesn't show the full extent of the mountain range. It also doesn't show how far the village is from it, nor the nearest hospital.
The woman might've needed to go to the hospital. While ambulances can help preserve life until it gets there, it actually needs to get to the patient first. Even if you drove up to the mountain, packed the gear, treacherously climbed over (risking falling/breaking bones) it still might be a long jog to the village. Then you have to do that again to get back, but this time with a person in tow trying to keep her alive...
I'm pretty sure his base thought for the mountain wasn't that he hoped other people wouldn't feel his pain but that He just really ******* hated the mountain
