Quan-chi in the appearance of Bi-han (Sub zero) killed scorpion with a cheap shot, then Scorpion accepted becoming a spectre to **** up subzero and all his clan (that's what Quan-chi the sorcerer wanted to achieve), that way he kills (******* owns flawlessly) Bi-han (sub zero) and then just kills tundra (some subzeros sibling). Then Sub zero is resurrected as Noob Saibot but meh, he hasn't lots of ambition in that form anyway.

Quan Chi does it on purpose disguised as SubZero so that he can bring Scorpion back as an evil spirit to murder SubZero for Quan Chi. After killing SubZero, Scorpion finds out who it was from the spirits of his ancestors and tears apart Quan Chi. Then from there he joins the new SubZero (his brother) and they become a legendary pair of assassins to fight against people like Quan Chi, as Scorpion feels in debt for killing the first SubZero

That was just in MK legacy. Scorpion and Sub Zero were both tasked to bring in an artifact that was in an ancient temple I believe. Sub Zero and Scorpion fought and Sub Zero killed him. It was only after Scorpion was resurrected that Quan Chi killed Scorpions clan and framed Sub Zero.

Here is what I took from that, so correct me if I'm wrong. Sub-Zero being stronger and able to defeat Quan-Chi, so Quan had to have someone to kill Sub-Zero so that wouldn't happen, and that someone was Scorpion. Is that close or no?

Ya pretty much. There's not much of a definition as to why, but SubZero definitely had to be removed. I thinnk it was cuz Quan Chi wouldn't join the tournament unless he turned into a mortal (only reason Raiden can join is he turns mortal) and he didn't wanna risk being killed by any other person.

Finally someone else on the internet that appreciates MK as much as I do. I am a religious Mortal Kombat freak. I own tons of toys (mostly the originals from 95), almost all the games on every system, and I LOVE the movies, including the TV show Mortal Kombat Conquest! It also got me into martial arts which I have been doing for 14 years now.
I love the first film. I seen it when I was five years old in the theaters. It remains one of my top five favorite movies of all time. During it's release, it was just so incredibly badass and I think the movies held up well over time even till today. MK is life.

I know, the second one was a flop for most people but I also enjoyed it. I didn't think it was bad as people make it out to be. I loved the Cyrax fight and I think the guy who played Shao Khan was awesome. I think the main thing that hurt it was that the dynamic trio of Linden Ashby, Robin Shou, and Bridgett Wilson was gone with Christopher Lambert being their voice of treason. We lost everyone except Robin and Kitana. Plus they kind of pointlessly brought back dead characters like Sub Zero and Scorpion when there was a great deal of other characters they could have brought into the mix instead. Sektor, Noob Saibot, Stryker, Kabal. Also, where Goro was scary we had Sheeva who like like a cheesy hermaphrodite in prosthetics.
What did you think of the MK Legacy web series? I loved it, I wish Kevin didn't leave the project, I hope the franchise continues moving forward. We definitely need a new MK on the big screen.

**sedativechunk rolls 3** Yes, like the other guys said, they were working on a new one. Here is a very brief history of what has happened with a new Mortal Kombat movie...

1) 1997 - MK Annihilation is released, despite being a mediocre movie made $21+ million profit in the box office, New Line Cinema wanted to do a third film
2) 2003 approx. - Linden Ashby in a You need to login to view this link interview confirms that they are in talks to do a third film and he may return to Mortal Kombat as Johnny Cage but he said there was "politics" over it
3) around 2007 - Some asshat director named "Mink" was set to direct the third film, again there was politics going on with the studios as to who owned the rights to the film
4) 2011 - Warner Bros. acquires MK, releases new rebooted video game that was a huge success
5) 2011 - Kevin Tancharoen (an up and coming director) funded out of his own money a pilot for a new movie with his vision for MK, Warner Bros. approved and let him do a web series as a proof of concept called "Mortal Kombat Rebirth"
6) 2013 - Kevin did a season 2 even bringing back the original Shang Stung with Cary Tagawa, at end of year though, Kevin announced on his twitter that he was leaving Mortal Kombat but the project "would go on without him"
7) Present day - no new news exist about Mortal Kombat, the web series is probably over unless someone else liked his concept for MK, and overall the movie is in production hell again

Mortal Kombat is the definition of production hell. I've waited about 14 years for a sequel now and still never got one. I enjoyed the web series just because it was new but that was also canned now that KT left.

And that kids, is what happened to Mortal Kombat on the big screen.

meh, I looked into it but from what I see, the trailer for Rebirth is all that is out for it. It ended up being a short 8 minute film and the production has stopped? I remember watching that video back when it was first shown and over time forgot about it until the web series was released, thinking it was the same thing.

Yeah, the trailer had me pretty excited but its been so long. I reckon it was because of the Dragonball z film, once they realised it didn't make a lot of money they were less keen on a Mortal Kombat reboot.

However, I feel like Mortal Kombat should get more praise than it does. Honestly, some people are into movies that are just pure blood and guts. What movie would be a candidate for this than mortal kombat? Even if the previous movies weren't as gorey or bloody as the games, this one can be. We live in a day and age where technology and CG is so advanced, a Mortal Kombat remake is a must. Or at least that is my opinion on it.

Also, on the game franchise, I think within the next 5 years, they need to make another like MK9 but with a character roster like Trilogy's

Also, am I the only person who enjoyed MK chess and the other mini games greatly? I want those back.

I really loved the Mortal Kombat films, having another one made would be fantastic and could get a lot of people who might not have heard of it interested in it. The only issue is people are very into super heroes or comic book characters now. i'm in no way complaining I enjoy the film adaptations but it would be nice to see some film diversity Before that they were into zombie films, if you are going to release a film like Mortal Kombat it will have to be at the end of this phase of super heroes. Hopefully they recognise that and get their act together.

I never owned a Mortal Kombat game i'm sorry but I did play it a fair amount after school at my friends house. I haven't played any of the recent ones so I wouldn't be able to comment. Although the current game market is still geared around, run to this objective shoot everything, run to the next objective shoot some more things. It's popular and there is little that we can do about it, which means the game wouldn't be given the best reception apart from the die hard fans, which is a shame . Maybe in 5 years the market will have shifted again, it would be a shame to lose such a good franchise. Sorry for the wall of text I kind of just went off on one
