I know it isn't great writing BUT its such a trope on /x/ I actually have one - admittedly a parody one - whose second line is "And then a skeleton popped out."

More "edgy" for lack of a better word. (I mean this as in an unnerving way, this is a compliment so please dont take it wrong)
However this one was meh in my opinion, it just feels out of place.

Bingo. It's an assassin sent to kill a target who has been tortured to the point of insanity. For once death is a mercy. And he isn't used to that. I agree its one of the weaker ones of this comp. My favorite one is 118 (the third one) personally. Its not an excuse but since I normally release 6 a week (~312ish a year plus special events like I'm planning on doing one a day in October and MAYBE 24 extra on Halloween itself) not every one will be amazing. I'm sorry about that but I'm pretty open to feedback on how to improve for that reason. And I'm planning to host monthly contests starting October for these sorts of stories so hopefully the new diversity will help my overall quality.

I'm making them myself! But in case you are interested I release two new stories every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on my website: www.btschweitzer.com/. I'm actually posting them on here a bit out of order since my first post was the "A" stories for my first two weeks and this was the "B" stories. I'm trying to stagger them so if people visit the site they still have new content to see. Not sure if it's the BEST idea but they don't teach you any of this crap in school so I'm flying by the seat of my pants mostly lol.

These aren't really scary, or even creepy. None of them had the sudden "oh **** " moment from a good short story. "A woman bought a house. Also it was haunted too." So what?
