people seem to forget that a right to peacefull protest does not also mean you have the right to shut down roads and barricade public buildings, and those are the things that get the riot police involved. Peacefull protest is supposed to be picketing on the side of the road, gathering in a park, or in front of a building, not blockading traffic and buildings untill your large scale temper tantrum get's the desired effect.
User avatar #21 to #3 - craptola (01/26/2015) [-]

Funny story.

I grew up in the drug capital of the North, Oslo. People there aren't that bright. People protested against so heavy use of cars and pollution, by blocking roads, causing huge traffic. More pollution that day than for a normal month cause of it. ****** brilliant.

What if I told You there was a way to disagree with people that didn't involve crippling and possibly killing them?

For ****** sake, it's a nonviolence protest, is that really so horrible?Even so, does a disagreement of opinion really call for physical violence?
User avatar #185 to #177 - lieutenantderp ONLINE (01/27/2015) [-]
>nonviolent protest

blocked the main street, stopped all traffic to a standstill and pretty much nullifies public utilities like the police and hospitals. I remember laughing when some protester at Ferguson got a heart attack that she ****** deserved as the ambulances couldn't get through the protesting people.
User avatar #190 to #185 - bronywiseman ONLINE (01/27/2015) [-]
First of all, I didn't say it was a nonviolent protest, I said it was a nonviolence protest, as in, a protest in favor of peace and pacifism as opposed to war.
Second standing is nonviolent, there are other streets, other ways to go, these people aren't blocking the only road for miles around, this is one of the cases where breaking the rules of the road is acceptable, You know what's not acceptable?Aggravated assault.

Third, I don't know what the **** happened with Funnyjunk's opinion on Ferguson, it is EXACTLY what happened with Gamergate: there is an injustice, people protest it, some assholes give everyone a bad name, the whole thing remains unresolved.

"I disagree with You, so I will physically attack You, and if You die, I'll use You as an example"
You are everything wrong with humanity or rather, lack thereof , is it so hard to show a little compassion, to say to Yourself "maybe we aren't that different after all"?
User avatar #193 to #190 - lieutenantderp ONLINE (01/27/2015) [-]
I never said I'll physically attack a protester if he wasn't in my way. There's nothing wrong with protesting, unless the perpetrators harm the rights of others. If someone's protesting outside on a lawn, fine. If they're in the middle of the ******* road or in places that would cause extreme inconvenience for others, not fine. If someone comes into my house to protest I'll most likely shoot them. And I don't think people were protesting over injustice in Ferguson, it was just a bunch of rioters seeking to steal **** given the special opportunity. Besides there weren't any injustice in the first place.
#198 to #193 - bronywiseman ONLINE (01/27/2015) [-]
"just a bunch of rioters seeking to steal **** "
Right, and Gamergate is just a hate group who sends rape threats to people.
Funnyjunk seems to have a habit of looking at the worst members of a group, and then assuming the rest of the group is identical, if not worse Unless they're a part of that group, in which case, the opposite is often true.

And You're spotlightingQuite helpfully, might I addanother of Funnyjunks misconceptions of Ferguson, it was not so much an injustice, as a generous overreaction.

Was Trayvon Martin innocent? No.
He did steal a box of Cigarillos, and should be punished justly. What the **** is a Cigarillo, anyways? It sounds like a car straight out of GTA: Vice City
But he wasn't punished justly. Do You really think petty theft is worth the death penalty? And while there's no proof that Wilson is racist, it is likely given the town's, and the FPD's track record, but, I'm rambling.
The point is, okay, maybe the middle of the road wasn't the best place in the world to protest, but this is definitely the wrong response.
Ask them to move to the sidewalk, if that doesn't work, call the police, they will be moved. As ironic as maiming protesters of nonviolence is, it's also illegal.

Also unlike Your house, the road is public property.

Trayvon Martin was, like, 195.
And I doubt he charged Wilson, have You read his side of the story?
It's ridiculous, it makes little to no sense, and every.single.thing. Trayvon does is out of character for ANY teenager, much less a black teenager in the presence of a white cop.

If You handed his story to Tommy Wisau even he would be like: "dis is rreally bad, unbeleavable."

Also, did You know that the term Copper comes from the term cop, as in, to seize?
I thought that was pretty neat.

#211 to #190 - blackmanrollipolli (01/27/2015) [-]
you're a complete idiot if you believe blocking a public road as a means of protesting is an appropriate thing to do. There are plenty of other ways to protest your opinion on a matter other than forcing those that disagree with you to suffer. When those people stand in the road they are taking my state's civil rights as a driver to drive freely on a public road. That is not how you win people's opinion over. That's how you make the rest of society resent you and what you're protesting about.
#207 to #190 - anon (01/27/2015) [-]
It is illegal to block a roadway in ANY state in the US. Also, notice the guy behind him trying to smash the window in with a flag? Nonviolence, riiiight. its not like he hit them at 35 MPH and he wasnt driving into them because he disagreed, they were blocking a public road and he needed to get past them. if they want to stand in the middle of the road then that's a risk they are going to take.

It's from the game Hard Rain. You play as a father whose son gets kidnapped while playing on a playground. After he disappears you run around the streets looking for him and can press X to call out for him, causing your character to yell "SHAUUUUUN".
In the video this ability is retained past that scene for some reason, possibly through some bug or exploit, and hilarity ensues
