To be completely honest, I wasn't allowed to play rated M games when I was a kid, instead I grew up playing the classics then, and the classics now. When I was really young original Super Mario Bros, Sonic, and Megaman were my **** , and when I got a little older Crash, Spyro, Newer gen Mario games like Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion became the games I played. From then, I grew with my games, I began playing Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, Ratchet & Clank, etc. I still played Crash, Sonic, Pokemon and all that but I wasn't allowed to own any rated M game and I would only play GTA or Halo at friends. It wasn't until I was 12 that I got my first rated M game, Bioshock 2. From then I was able to ****** with my games and went back and played the stories of our favorite games like San Andreas and Vice City. Currently rating is just a letter to me, and if the game is a title I'm familiar with or appears to have potential, I purchase it, but like everyone else I can't forget about our childhood. I don't want my kids to miss that, every child needs heroes like Megaman, Crash Bandicoot, Sonic, or Ratchet. Playing those titles will make today's Uncharted, The Last Of Us, Assassin's Creed, GTA, that much more exciting, and even then their favorites will remain in their minds and in their hearts.
I can only imagine how ridiculous this sounds... sorry
