the **** is that

A Ferris wheel would not fit in with the whole medieval castle theme he has going on

chances are its this seeing as there are sources of flowing water

why he decided to build it above the water sources confuse me though

Never enjoyed the whole building aspect of Minecraft, I like survival and I feel like I'm one of the few.
User avatar #51 to #2 - captchakid ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
Well I mean, you are. The whole point of it is to survive by building things.
User avatar #8 to #2 - trapposternohomo (01/07/2016) [-]
Survival is the reason I never liked Terraria

The Entire reason I played minecraft was to build, I never liked survival mode, so when a game released that was basically Survival mode but with a bigger focus on the fighting and surviving, I didn't like it much
#20 to #8 - lmrml (01/07/2016) [-]
I mean, I've built entire forts/castles in Terraria in my 1.5k hours I've put into it and they turned out better than the **** I've made in Minecraft's creative mode

And that's why I tend to enjoy Terraria much more than Minecraft, the survival aspect plus the better weapons and combat are my favorite parts! I do enjoy the Minecraft survival maps and adventure maps though.
User avatar #25 to #8 - civilizedwasteland (01/07/2016) [-]
i dont like survival or building, I just like to dig **** and explore caves, so i didnt particularity enjoy terraria or minecraft.
User avatar #24 to #2 - pesoen (01/07/2016) [-]
i like a combination of both, i always imagine it being some sort of dream, you arrive in this square world, and have to live, you are the only one alive in the world, besides monsters.

i prefer with mods, such as tekkit and the likes, for a more industrial feel, and more automated things, but vanilla is still as enjoyable as ever.
User avatar #34 to #2 - zzzanzitron (01/07/2016) [-]
Try Complete the Monument maps
They usually emphasize PvE (monsters and traps and lava, lots have more lava) and most are worthwhile

I can't build outside of survival mode without feeling like I'm cheating.

Somebody asked me this on a server when I said it and it still pisses me off. Just because they don't enjoy the game for the same reasons you do doesn't mean they don't enjoy it just as much.
User avatar #15 to #2 - legolego ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
that's why i play modded. i don't see any point in building something if it doesn't do something cool and make me feel like i actually achieved something
User avatar #16 to #2 - crispybomb (01/07/2016) [-]
I only like building in creative. Building without infinite resources and flying is a hassle. Survival's fun too but not the house building part.
#30 to #2 - ainise (01/07/2016) [-]
This is precisely why I enjoyed Terraria so much.

Building meant something - it's there to be functional and assist you. Survival was difficult, especially in the new(ish) expert mode.

Minecraft never felt that way to me, but I still put a few hundred hours into it. Fun, but not what I had wanted.

**** that fish boss, most bs **** ever
#50 to #32 - epicduck (01/07/2016) [-]
duke fishron, he is best done after golem imo probably because i suck at the game tho...
User avatar #49 to #32 - therockofshame ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
The Duke is easy if you know how to dodge its attacks. It gave me a ton of trouble at first when I had to grind for a flairon but once you get it down to a science its easy af.

If that's what you're into, you might enjoy Terraria more.
User avatar #14 to #2 - chuca (01/07/2016) [-]
Well that's basically most of the game. That would be like playing a first person shooter and hating the shooting aspect.
User avatar #19 to #2 - belshir (01/07/2016) [-]
i liked carving out a structure, not building castles and the like if im not in creative, having a mountain riddled with my own tunnels and rooms just felt more homely
#47 to #2 - anon (01/07/2016) [-]
That's because Minecraft is a great choice for a 'building' game, but an awful choice for a survival game.
User avatar #39 to #2 - mypickinuraxe ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
I like to have my own modded survival worlds with their own theme.
User avatar #5 to #2 - mrshrapnel (01/06/2016) [-]
Building was more or less ALL i ever did.
Id frequently come join friends servers purely to build cool **** for them while they got the blocks i needed, then i ****** off again looking for more things to build.

I kinda like making beutiful looking things but i cant draw for **** IRL so i build in minecraft.

I like building in survival, but only in multiplayer, which I believe exists only as a e-peen measuring contest over who can build the biggest/best building using rare materials.

Cobblestone scrubs automatically lose.
#9 to #7 - anon (01/07/2016) [-]
All rare buildings look like trash.
User avatar #3 to #2 - strigt (01/06/2016) [-]
I take both in equal measures.
You have to survive in order to improve your standing structures.
I enjoy building, but I have to struggle in order to feel like I've accomplished something.

Play the game with no mods

Something I wish people would say once in a while is all, every person here is recommending a pile of mods instead of playing the game for the game.
User avatar #45 to #40 - motherfuckingkenji (01/07/2016) [-]
Because it's boring as **** without mods; there's ******* to do.

Now Terraria, THERE'S a creative sandbox game worth playing even in vanilla.
