no, you are in the right, the amount a person with adhd takes is 1/2 to 4 pills, when you want to get high of the pills you take 10-30 pills, if you have adhd 20-30 pills will get you high but ruin the intended effect of normal use. that is the reason adhd kids dont do it, they need the medicine.
also wrong ******** .
you can get buzzed off just 10mgs of adderall, or not even one normal 30mg pill you would find on the streets. those wanting a true high, like euphoria or just a rush, will crush and snort >30mgs.
30 pills of 30mg will probably kill you.
I support this. When I'm trying to use some for work, I just take a 30 normally and I'm fully alert and energized without looking like I'm on something. But if I really need to get some **** done or just want to do it for fun I rail it. Trust me, you would never need any more than that. I also don't do it anymore than a few times a month at the most.
Adderall is a simple amphetamine, and is given to people with ADHD in low doses. Even if you don't have ADHD and take one pill, it'll help you get hyper-focused and alert. That's why it's so popular on college campuses - non-ADHD folk will take it to study for tests since it keeps you up all night and helps you stay focused. Many even argue that ADHD is largely a make-believe illness caused by lack of discipline (in fact, the psychiatrist who proposed the diagnosis admitted on his deathbed that he believed it to be a fictitious disorder: www.healthcentral.com/adhd/c/268155/162810/add-adhd-fiction-real-disease/ ). At any rate, taking a large dose of Adderall is like taking speed, whether or not you have ADHD, so you were completely right in your first post.
But... that is how it works. Adderall calms you down if you have ADHD, hypes you up if you don't. It all has to do with the neurotransmitters in your brain. When a certain transmitter doesn't function right, they give you a drug to mimic what chemical interacts with it. That's why some people who get prescribed anti-depressants get way more depressed when they take them, because if the drug you're using is targeting a properly functioning transmitter, it can have negative side effects.
Fun fact on anti-depressants (new registered nurse), the reason suicide is increased while beginning to take antidepressants isn't due to the medication working incorrectly. Studies all show that majority were previously suicidal, but the extreme fatigue caused by lack of seratonin and dopamine caused them to sit around and stay away from social settings. By eliminating the fatigue, there can be a burst of energy and mood swing early that the person doesn't know how to handle. This makes previous ideas of suicide suddenly realistic to the person. After a while on the medication this dies down as the person becomes adjusted to the new "normal" levels of seratonin. But during the first 1-4 weeks, anti depressants increase the risk of suicide for this reason and people need to be closely monitored. This is why you see suicide as a side effect.
' Adderall calms you down if you have ADHD, hypes you up if you don't. ''
I don't know about Adderall, but the same thing is said about Ritalin, which is another medicine prescribed for ADHD.
I have always taken Ritalin for my ADHD (up to 4 a day), and a few months ago i snorted it for the first time before going out. It did give me a nice sharp focus, similar to Speed. It also sobers you up when drunk and/or stoned.
It actually hypes you up chemically, but it also helps you collect your thoughts, so net effect is you appear calmer, but I have been on Ritalin before, and while I was calm on it, there was no chance I could go to sleep after taking it.
jump your dosage up 4 times and tell me you are calm. adderall is a amphetamine, it makes everyone calm if taken in small dosage. smart drugs.... if you take more you will feel like you are on 400 cups of coffee. i have Adhd
having ADHAD doesn't mean you know how it works. As a pharmacist, adderal makes you FOCUS, not CALM. All adderall is is a tiny amount of meth, while not technically true, in a broad generalization it is.
adderall does NOT calm you down.... i worked pharmaceuticals for MANY years., what it DOES do is make you FOCUS. its essentially a veeerrry small amount of meth, in layman's terms. i know that is not TECHNICALLY correct, but that is the general idea of why kids take it at parties and such,
Dunno, I tried 2 25mg pills at once and it let me become focused. I wasnt day dreaming as much and I asked questions when I didn't understand them. Overall 10/10 would recommend. frieND let me try it and I thought about going to the doctor but she prescribed Latuda or something and all it did was make me sleepy. Anti psychotic or some other
adderall operates differently on those with ADHD and those that don't. if you don't have ADHD, you get a bit worked up. if you do, you calm down and focus more. you probably have slight ADHD.
Cool, thanks. I think I have adhd. I'm pretty sure I'm bipolar tho. It's weird. I'm happy all the time and sometimes in get super irritated easily. I'm extremely impulsive and I'm stubborn. I guess I'm the happy bipolar ? sometimes it sucks and I get sad for no reason.
These people saying you're supposed to take half an adderall, when all the ones I've come across are the dissolving plastic kind with beads in them? Oh wait, the real **** has beads. Solid pills are GENERIC.
And amount of pills taken doesn't matter, the dosage is what matters. They have doses from like 5 to 30 mg if I recall. If you take more than 100 mg, especially if you blow it, you're basically tweaking. You wanna do stuff, and you focus intently.
You're partially correct - all psychiatrists these days will prescribe the time-release version, which is Adderall-XR. When it was first released it was a tablet, and many of the generic brands still are tablets. I believe even Adderall is still produced as a 10mg blue tablet, but that is very rarely prescribed today due to its widespread abuse.
one of my close friends was diagnosed with ADHD around october. so about a month ago he actually decided to take the pills. he took a pill, thought it was fine, and then realized that he was only supposed to take half of one. he was twitching the **** out all day
Taken it once at a party, and didn't realize it makes alcohol have pretty much no effect on you. I was confused why it seemed like I couldn't get drunk, and then once it started wearing off I was hammered.
