That doesn't necessarily mean it's good. I mean most people avoided any spoilers and it was so hyped up that everybody wanted to go. I don't know I haven't watched it.

It was ok, as a stand-alone movie it was a solid 7/10.
As a sequel to the 6 films it was pretty meh, 5/10 ish meh.
Overall, it's a fun movie if you don't take it too seriously, the more you are into SW and the extended universe the more it's gonna start bugging you about things.
5/7 could be much better if they didn't try to appeal to old fans, new fans and kids too all at the same time

I pretty much agree with the 5/10. As a stand-alone it would have been a good one, as a sequel.... It was recycled and boring. I had low expectations and I was still let down.
And I loved SW II and III.
They butchered the expanded universe for this **** . What the hell?

I share your feelings.
Plotholes were bugging me so much, if i never saw the previous SW movies i atleast wouldve been spared the stuff that didnt make sense in the context of the rest of the lore.
It wasn't a terrible movie, but it wasn't good either. Mostly dragged down by "artistic choices" and a poor story. The acting itself i thought was quite good, but there is only so much an actor can do with a poorly written script and character.

kittylactose (01/01/2016) [-] If it wasn't associated with Star Wars then it would have been a great movie but for me, it just failed to deliver that 'umf' the previous movies had. Not as bad as episode VI ( ******* teddy bears) and Episode II but still a huge letdown.
