Someone is going hate me for this, but I really just don't like GTA games anymore and I am personally glad that the Saints Row series moved as far away from the series as they could.
even though I put 28 days into GTA online, I completely agree. Apparently a billion in three days wasn't enough for rockstar because they still made GTAO grindy as **** . What's with AAA companies making the multiplayer in their 60 dollar games borderline p2w?? And that's not even going into the fact that 360/ps3 users basically beta'd the online for current gen and pc. Pic related - its people spawning in the weekend that double cash and double rp so everyone and their mother did rooftop rumble.
Everyone that really wanted to play it already did so on a console. I'm sure I'll pick it up again on PC for dirt cheap eventually assuming it's ever released , but I've played enough of it on PS3 that I just don't care about the PC release anymore.
I pretty excited about it. I've played it twice on console, and both times were me sitting in my brother's room trying it on his xbox 360.
Not everyone who is excited about the game has played it yet. I don't own a console except for a Wii sitting somewhere, along with an old PS2 that I share with my brother.
The thing is, the game has already sold 40 million copies. There's no rush for Rockstar to **** out a PC version just to add a paltry few million, if that, to the total. Like I said, everyone that really wanted to play it has already done so on consoles, even the ones that were holding out for a PC release. I was one of those, but I decided to just get it for PS3 and get it over with. You're in the minority, honestly. There aren't too many PC gamers that don't also have a console capable of playing the game.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm going to get it for PC eventually, but it certainly won't be at full price. I've already paid full price for it once, and I won't do it again just for more eye candy, a decent framerate, and mods. And don't get me started on the possibility of it being a garbage port with optimization issues like GTA 4 was.
I got tired of waiting. The need is gone and it's been replaced with a tiny bit of want.
Most of my close friends don't have consoles, but yes, we are a minority. Most of them will buy it if the port is good, and I'll probably pre-order it when we're closer to release.
It's mostly for the bonus money for GTA online. I'll probably wait for a Port Report from Totalbiscuit, hopefully that'll be out before the game is. But the bonus is pretty significant in terms of in-game time spent earning money. And it's the sort of game where I'd most likely spend hours just driving around the city, listening to music and podcasts.
Again, I'll wait for a port report and, if it's positive, buy it when the port report is out. If that's before the game is out, cool. If not, I most likely won't pre-order.
Goddamn it Rockstar. I can't wait for heists to give a whopping 50,000 and disappointment after over a year of waiting, but hey at least the gear looks pretty cool.
