I don't get why the rest of the world thinks the US discriminates, I'm pretty sure a Mexican or a Asian undocumented immigrant would risk the journey here 3 times rather than end up an Aboriginal in Canada, or a Gypsy in Europe.

I know we're racist as **** but goddamn even I feel sorry for those guys.

You see it works like this:
No racism and descrimination allowed, does not mean "no racism or discrimination".
If I go down the main street in the quaint little town I live in right, and I see a store
Outside on the front of the store, it has a sign that says "no ******** on the floor please"
Now, we know ******** on the floor is prohibited
Just because I then continue to go in and vehemently squeeze out a log on the carpet doesn't mean it's suddenly allowed in the store
It just means I'm a cunt waffle

My one problem. I'm not racist at all, and I don't agree with what racists have to say, but i believe it should be their right to say it if they want.

Nanny states happen when unpopular opinions get silenced.

I hate the westburderpaderp "church", but it makes me feel PROUD to be an American when I read "wbc banned from UK". **** that **** ! Here anyone can say anything they want. Freedom of Speech above all else!
User avatar #116 to #112 - hermaeousmora (06/17/2014) [-]
What is good for the individual is not necessarily good for the society.
In Canada we have freedom of speech, but it ranks below our freedom from harassment. The Westboro Baptist Church is considered a hate group, as are the KKK, and thus they are not given access to our wonderful nation.
#126 to #116 - kulamia (06/17/2014) [-]
The state is comprised of the individuals in total. To say that one individual needs to quiet down because someone else would feel harassed is asinine to me(please do not take offense, your culture is different enough from mine that you are not what offends me, but the ideas).

While there are many groups out there that are hateful and disgusting, I believe that if we pick and choose what is and is not acceptable, that can be abused VERU quickly by the wrong people. Sure today it's wbc, and some radical muslims trying to get people to hate (insert country here). But what about if the wrong people take power and suddenly it's people who chant down with *those people in power who are abusing it*?
#132 to #126 - John Cena (06/17/2014) [-]
Indeed man

We have the BNP in England, yes they are seemingly racist, yes they curse and stuff, but to be honest, it's a legit Political view that people are welcome too.

Freedom of Speech is a glorious gift, it's a real shame a lot of countries don't 'truly' Endorse it.
User avatar #133 to #132 - hermaeousmora (06/17/2014) [-]
To be clear, you can say whatever you'd like in Canada, but you can't use your beliefs to harass people. The Westboro Baptist Church was banned from the country because they picket funerals and hold protests over something that the majority of Canadians have no issue with. They're barred from entry because the majority of Canadians don't want people like them in the country.

Well, in fairness, Quebec is the province with a dominantly french speaking population and they tend to hate anyone who speaks English (Espesily Ontarians). And they have no interest at all in learning English. This is because they feel their language and culture is being pushed out; which is why they've been trying to become their own county for like 50+ years.

here is an insight from an actual Canadian.

it come to my attention that 99% of the internet sucks Canada's dick even though they know nothing about this place and get 99% of their knowledge from retarded tubler posts like this. 80% of the country is a frozen waste land, the other half is half frozen and depressing, i live in Toronto and there is literally nothing to do here. the reason why crime rate is so low is because everyone is too cold to give a **** about anything, during the summer everyone fly's out to Miami, California or new york or literally anywhere else just to get away from Canada for few days.
and our "free" healthcare is just as free as thous free dating sites you see on porn sites, we pay about 15-20% more in taxes than Americans but everyone on the internet is too dumb too see that because it has the word "free" in front of it. also don't get my started on the waiting list. once my thought was killing and i had to wait a whole 2 months to see a doctor. all my American friends have free healthcare from their jobs and get to keep 15% of their income at the end of the year. If i could, i would move to Calfornia or something
User avatar #242 - xsap (06/17/2014) [-]
I been to Toronto Canad,It was colt, always gloomy, no one was on the streets, the malls were empty and dead silent, it felt like a post apolitical wasteland where the buildings somehow stayed intact. that was during the winter, i went back that summer because I have a family who lives there it was the same thing just with the sun in the sky... i got pushed out of the bus because I stopped for 2 sec to check if that was the right top.
0/10 never again

Toronto is a horrible representation of Canada anyways, but that doesn't sound like Toronto at all to me.

By the way, for those wondering, Torontonians (that's what they're called now) are like Americans living big city lives. I'm not complaining about them, but Toronto might as well be an American city. Also, the traffic is going to especially suck for the next few years.

#241 - helenwheels (06/17/2014) [-]
The reason Canada is so big but has so few people is because more than half of it is nothing but frozen ******** . You do not have lots of space.

Theirs also not a lot of racism because its mostly white people, but northern Canadians hate southern Canadians. French Canadians hate English Canadians and English Canadians hate French Canadians. So yeah, there is a lot of discrimination.
#248 to #241 - pallypal (06/17/2014) [-]

User avatar #186 to #183 - theforeseen (06/17/2014) [-]
Its not that hard my ex and his dad had about 3 .22 rifles which they took to this pub which had a indoor gun range attached to it every Friday , its hard to get a gun for the sake of getting a gun unless you have a club that is willing to vouch for you and accept responsibility for you as far as i am aware.
User avatar #188 to #186 - cuntism (06/17/2014) [-]
Getting a license for a gun that fires actual bullets is a mammoth task. You need to prove that you have cause for it. You need referees and to belong to a government approved shooting club. I'm sorry but I don't believe you in this instance as there's no way a pub is a home office-approved gun range - it sounds more like they were .22 air rifles, which are a piece of piss to get hold of (don't need a license).

I have a shotgun license and that was kind of a pain.
User avatar #192 to #188 - torchrose (06/17/2014) [-]
I have no idea what backwards province you live in, but it's not like that in Ontario
User avatar #190 to #188 - theforeseen (06/17/2014) [-]
For all im aware i could be fully wrong in what i said , but they never explained how they got them to me in detail much of it was assumption but i remember they where real .22 rounds and the pub had a range attached to it , it was just on the outskirts of Skegness.
User avatar #191 to #190 - cuntism (06/17/2014) [-]
Sorry I didn't mean I don't believe you in that sense, I more meant you were mistaken. However it's not really something someone would lie about, it's much more likely people are taking risks with their guns. I've taken the shotguns to some er...none-legal places (scrap yards are SUPER fun).
User avatar #194 to #191 - theforeseen (06/17/2014) [-]
Ah well im glad I found some one to have a civil conversation with at least , ive never really fired a gun outside the range or in the army cadets its not really a thing for me , i prefer my Archery set for some reason.
User avatar #197 to #194 - cuntism (06/17/2014) [-]
Fair enough. I tried archery, it was fun but it's more a precision sport. Shooting has a wider array of options for fun...blowing **** up is just fun. I did air rifles for a long time but now it bores the ever loving tits off of me, I can hit a plinker at 60 yards 2cm across, so it's kind of become redundant. But shotguns, you have clay pigeon shooting, you got just...shooting **** to see it go boom...and holy **** they have explosive clay pigeons, immensely entertaining but really expensive, I do that about once a year.
User avatar #200 to #197 - theforeseen (06/17/2014) [-]
I do love explosives ._. that sounds very fun i wonder if i can get exploding arrows XD
