no. shut up. 'multiple personality disorder' has been defined as 'dissociative identity disorder' (unless you have completely distinctive personalities and demeanors which is incredibly rare) so if you did have said "MPD" then you would be unaware of it and most likely institutionalized. educate yourself you uneducated swine

"you mad bad sad" might very well be the stupidest, most idiotic response to an insult I've ever heard. Your comment about your "expertise" on mental illnesses making you seem educated and deep also made you look incredibly stupid, as dissociative identity disorder is widely regarded as a form of MPD, so go **** yourself.

www1.salary.com/Psychologist-Salary.html
Median salary for a psychologist is 80k a year, with bottom 10% making 60k and top 10% making 110.000k.
Idea that psychologist have bad employment rates comes from a NPR report showing that psychology has 20% unemployment. Problem with that is that they were looking for bachelors not graduate degrees, and to work in the field you need a graduate degree.
www.apa.org/news/press/response/employment-data.aspx
Psychologists actually are in top 10% highest employed people in the country.

Cool, lets bring out the facts.

www.apa.org/support/education/statistics/continuing.aspx#answer

75% undergraduate psychology majors do not continue their education in psychology

>Implying he is part of the 25%
>"I'm a psychology major"
>He is not part of the 25%
>Implying I am discrediting Psychologists
>I am not
>Implying that psychology majors are psychologists
>They are not

The point being that people that major in psychology are idiots 75% of the time because they have no plan to further their education and thus are stuck with a useless degree, ultimately ending up at Starbucks or McDonalds

You can have a handicap parking ticket, and not have a mental illness, you know.

Mental disorders are normally caused by things happening after birth.

While it's much too long to go into detail on, autism isn't in fact in the category of mental illness.

Frozen- Elsa & Intense Agorophobia
The Little Mermaid- Ariel & OCD / Hoarding
Finding Nemo- Dory & Anterograde Amnesia
And those are just the ones that play it off as cute when most of the plot revolves around those issues. There's plenty others I intentionally left out Beauty and the Beast because it's beating a dead horse and given only the context shown in the film and not speculating like saying Simba has PTSD from seeing his father die, leaving and always haunted by that moment nor am I mentioning the villains who are almost always seen as true sociopaths since that is the paragon they're supposed to portray along with Alice in Wonderland and the seven dwarves from Snow White.
I'm apologize I didn't give context beforehand

If you did have a mental illness, trying to talk about it (for most people) would be incredibly difficult

Depends on the illness.

Not necessarily. Plus, it's much easier to talk about them on the internet, where you can take the time to type words out correctly and have a degree of anonymity.

story of my ******* life. I sometimes think I might have depression, and I was always scared to try and tell anyone about it because I was scared of if they thought I was faking for attention. And of course when I finally work up the nerve to tell my brother, who was actually diagnosed for depression, about it he told me he didn't believe me and suggested that I was probably just sad. Now I'm probably worse off than I was before, because I'm scared that he's right. I don't want to be that guy who faked a mental condition for attention to everyone, so now the whole idea of a therapist is like a nightmare to me.

If you can't talk to anyone about it in person, you can talk to someone online. There's always a way to go about something, you just need to find it! Don't doubt yourself for one second, if you feel as though you have depression, do an online test and take the result to a doctor, if you don't know how to say it, they can just look at that and get a rough understanding.

Therapy sucks, i went to it for a few months but I stopped because I didn't see the point.

Depends, I have quite bad anxiety. Before I got diagnosed I was too scared to go to the doctor. Now I just tell people. It makes life easier and actually helps a lot, but it did take quite a bit of time before I could be so open about it.

indeed. i guess it's a matter of accepting it. i used to be ashamed of it, and never told anyong, but lately as i grew up, I've accepted what i got, so i don't have a problem mentioning it to people i know.

Had a friend who thought he was a complete psychopath because he watched an episode of Hannibal and liked the character Hannibal.

I reminded him he cried at the end of Bioshock Infinite and he hasn't talked to me for a few months.

In high school this stupid bitch constantly claimed she was bipolar and had multiple personalities. Pissed me off so much because my mom actually does have bipolar disorder and I've seen an episode. It's not pretty and not fun watching a loved one go from completely normal one day to manically depressed, paranoid, and refusing to eat, drink, or talk the next day. It's scary as hell and I hope it's not something I inherited. My brother was away at college at the time and she had to go to a mental facility for a month to figure it out. Strangest month of my life by far. Just me and my dad at home......I wouldn't have my friends over and I didn't really want to do anything. And ever since I get freaked out any time I start feeling depressed or paranoid about anything.

Her episode was brought on by stress, and since then I've made a conscious effort to not let myself be worried about ****. Smoking pot helps a lot.

Living with bipolar sucks for everyone involved, I'm really sorry your family and your mom had to go through that.

Yea, thanks. It's all good now, that was the second episode she had but it hadn't happened for a long time. They actually don't think she'll have another episode.
