That was the political correctness of the 30's and 20's. Jews were thought as the most privileged group of people. Though the Jews did exploit the situation Germany had in the 20's when their economy was going down like the hyperinflation of the Dollar of Zimbabwe, the Jews of Germany had it pretty good.

I don't really know how they got their money and at this point it's irrelevant because most of it's gone.
